The chains are also a magnesium steel alloy or something like that it’s a special alloy that makes the chain links get harder as friction or heat is applied that’s why it comes with the guarantee it takes like 5 diamond blades on a angle grinder to cut one I saw a test
you can wrap it around the seat post if it doesn't effect the cables. Many people use a back pack, shoulder bag, rear rack, front basket, pannier bags on a rear rack. I'll try and do a video that speaks about this.
My electric bike, which was locked up with this lock and a security cable, was stolen yesterday. The thief must have used a handheld battery powered metal cutter to cut through one of the links in the chain 😥
That's the thing with this lock it's meant for quick stops Kryptonite even says as much, for over night keep it in your place because locks are only meant to deter people. Check out the Abus locks they have 100db alarms on them or check out the Kryptonite Forget about it lock. That's literally it's name.
@@idk-vx9fz what would you recommend? This is the best chain lock that I can find In Australia, the bulkiest one Evolution mini 10mm is delivered in 15 days
I have this lock but I also have a kryptonite 12NM manganese evolution series double bolt shackle. I use the 12MM chain to secure the back wheel and frame to solid bike rack and the 7MM chain to secure the front wheel to frame. I use a cable lock to secure the saddle.
i have this lock to my lock is hard to open, so i put w2 40ty spray on the opening, its still hard to opens wuts a girl to do?? u should with type of lock have an good bike alarm like i do and u lock if your in a grocery store!
It's not so straightforward, there are many exceptions. You must have a picture of the cut lock, and proof of purchase of the bike with the serial number (I think)
Thanks Larry, but after watching a video from the Lockpickinglawyer, also on RU-vid, who easily picked this chain lock and demonstrated how easy it was, I am having some doubts about how hard it might really be to pick it, I'll leave his link bellow..According to him that lock has no safety features to stop someone, with the right tool and experience, from moving the parts inside, line them up, pull the chain and take off with the bike. Anyways, that guy is more pro that most thieves out there, but anyways....worth pointing out a different take on the same lock. You have to admit. LPL is a very talented lockpick whos been doing this for years. A thief most likely doesnt have that toolset, and most likely if they did they wouldnt steal your bike, as there are bigger fish to catch for them.
