KS Chithra - received her 4th National Award in 1996 for ‘Minsara Kanavu’ composed by AR Rahman. But her Musical Journey had started more than a decade ago.
KJ Yesudas was her mentor.
Under Ilaiyaaraaja she made her mark in Tamil Cinema.
Since 1991, she has been singing for Hindi Films.
Yet she has sung very limited number of songs in Hindi. Why?

Correct. I agree. I know that song she sang for Anu Malik is really different but still she sounded extraordinary in Ooh la la as if a volcano 🌋 erupted in her voice all of a sudden. That's ARR's supreme magic which no one else can beat. Hence, I want the interviewer to make her sing ARR songs and don't get deviated with his love of Bollywood songs.

Another amazing episode on her wonderful performance in Ooh la la song. She sounded so fresh in that song that no one can ever forget and thankfully they didn't make anyone else sing that song in Hindi (unlike the case in tu hi re) which would have ended up disastrous like the cover singer in this episode here. I admire the song she sang for Anu Malik but pls make sure to cover her in innings with ARR first and then we can move on to other songs and those experiences. Still a lot more that she sang for ARR are hardly even mentioned forget being covered and Alas, we are reaching the last episode of her interview. Don't you guys think her association with ARR is much more than those few coveted songs that we always get to hear?

Dear Mr. Srinivas... Thanks for your reactions and feedback. Chithra Mam's body of work is so huge... that thare can be a full series only on her songs. Imagine she sung in more than 100 films composed by Mr. Rahman. So within the time available to us, we tried to cover her iconic association with Mr. Rahman...and various milestones and phases of her career. In the 4 th episode she discusses other trcaks she sang for Mr. Rahman.. and many other facets of Mr. Rahman. Hope you will like that. Warm Regards.

Seriously ♥️ the way she has sung in a gujrati fokish way it's so rare ( Not blaming any singer) but people usually tries to maintain one type of singing style ... It's arr sir and of course chithra maa herself as well who get that a new shade in her voice. Ofcourse followed by raaja sir but this one was something unique something different and in Hindi it is something very very rare .

@@suryakhajuria3704 You are spot on. Even I felt she sounded so different in that song that it's almost not her. I think they used the Bhaang effect so well for that song but perhaps it didn't get popular is another thing. Still the interviewer can ask her to sing this song as well as she's quite her unusual self like you mentioned. I don't know with one more episode left and will they get to cover it or not.

@O2India, could you please make sure you don't mispronounce Tamil films? The narrator mispronounced "Minsara kanavu" pretty badly. Should not be very hard to take that little extra effort to get the pronunciation right.

Dont be too narrow minded..they are hindi people,im Frm Kerala i will nvr correct any tamilians or hindi people for mis pronunciation of malayalam words,bcz malayalm is speaking only in Kerala and Tamil in Tamil nadu.telung in andhra.kannada in Karnataka.and Hindi in entire north india,north indians are not teaching or giving lecture to South Indians for mispronouncing Hindi.if every one started like this there will be a huge language clash.

You are doing amazing work but I think it was unfair to mention Anu Malik for Payalain Chun Mun from Viraasat without mentioning Ilayaraja's original Tamil version. Anu Malik only re-interpreted or pre-arranged the song. He didn't compose all of it in my opinion.
