Yea Brother Coop! I do have to admit that Fender definitely has more bite! Both has its own special tone! The Bassmods/KSD has a thicker broader jazz bass tone to my ears. My ear wants to gravitate to that sound. The Suhr MIM Fender has that true Fender tone on STEROIDS! WOW!!! 😱One day I’m gonna find me a black 5 string like yours! I love the tone of them both! Yes! This Fender bites like a "SABBATOOTH TIGER". I use the fender for live gigs mostly everytime. I would use the bassmod for studio gigs. Now peep this. All of the "JOHN SUHR" fender jazz deluxe,...don't have "THIS" same sound/tone. You have to pick through them when you spot one, to see if this sound is in there. I used to have one of those Mexican Deluxe Active Jazz V's. Seems to me that the output was low even when compared to passive basses. Also, the fretboard isn't rosewood; it's pao-ferro.

Well, I have to be real honest with you. It's really a taste thing. If that bass feels good in your hands and you like the sound of it. That's all that really matters. Now, I don't really like them due to the price. A "SIRE" blows them away for around the same money. Sire over Allen Eden in my opinion. If you search hard enough you can find a "BASS MODS" 5 string for around the same price as the Allen Eden. Now if you want to upgrade that Allen Eden so that you would keep it. Here's the sauce. Ulyate PJ bass pickup with a "BASS MODS",..."RED" box bass preamp. You will love your bass forever. I'm not lying. It will blow your head off. Or you can get EMG 40 DC bass pickups with a "DELANO" MS3 preamp. That's another killer setup.
PERSONALY!Theres not to much of a difference in my opinion.1st of all he needs to come out of a better full souding amp cause you mostly hear alot of passiveness because the amps not loud enough and maybe hes to close up on the camera.Maybe thats why i think they both sound similar.When i dont get goose bumps iim not feeling it.And when somthings really poppin i get goose bumps.
