“Beginners” I’ve been playing this game for years and this helped me out a lot. This is one of those games where you can just continuously learn better ways to do things.
@mattfield3371
@mattfield3371 6 лет назад
Right? I've had the game for 3 years, played off and on, can make orbits, circularize, get to mun and minmus, and back, rendezvous and dock and only today learned you can load up the science like this, I was using like 4x each experiment and having to do multiple trips....this is going to save me so much time and effort and cost...

Protip for beginners: Leave only about 80 units of ablator in the heat shield if the mission will be in Kerbin's SOI because that's all you need and the rest is just dead weight. Also, remove the monopropellant from the pod. Doing this will give a bit of extra dV, just enough that you don't need to do a Mun slingshot because that's a bit of a tougher maneuver to pull off as it requires quite a bit of precision.
@justanotheryoutubechannel
@justanotheryoutubechannel 5 лет назад
3NGIN33R just leave like 20 ablator. It’ll be fine for anything that doesn’t require Aerobreaking.
@Quicksilver_Cookie
@Quicksilver_Cookie 5 лет назад
I've rarely seen more than 20-30 of ablator surface burned up even during spicy reentries. Now, Eve landing can be a different story :)

I only just managed to return from the Mun landing, running outta fuel burning retrograde but managed to get the periapsis at 48k on a looong ellipital orbit with the Mun. 3 orbits of kerbin later and on final entry, I had 60/200 pts of my heatshield left and wasn't sure if Jeb would make it. Big smiles and cheers as Jeb parachutes safely and praising the invention - the almighty heat shield!

 I don't know any usernames Try using the training scenarios accessible from the main menu. They actually are very useful for beginners, as they teach you the basics of the game and everything you need to know to progress properly. It will show you how to perform a gravity turn, which is crucial for getting a rocket into orbit. You can even learn advanced game mechanics such as performing a rendezvous maneuver, docking and landing on/returning from the Mun.

I just made my first Minmus trip yesterday and was super happy when I brought back over 1000 science. No extra biome hops though, I barely had enough electric power to make my final maneuver back to Kerbin as it was (I hadn't unlocked solar panels yet). It's impressive to see what can be done when you have a better handle on what you're doing. I'm looking forward to my first trip to the Mun with all the new goodies I unlocked. :D

I've just done my first trip as well. With a sprinkle of creativity: I did it like Apollo 11 did it, with a ship that remains in orbit and one lander, that later docks again. Docking was tough, but I managed to do it after a very long time reloading ans trying again. I managed to gather 1900 science from that! I did visit two biomes on the surface, and got to take a rock back home lol

I did Career Mode, too, but I find testing parts boring, too, and I decided to head straight to orbit (which took multiple tries), I finally got there with a stock craft that I modified a little. My first design that reached orbit from scratch actually used Rockomax parts and a Hitchhiker Storage Container. Also, I would also turn off Camera Shake to reduce screwing up your reentry. And I’d always bring both a Scientist AND a pilot.

hey i have a quick question. When you have a science lab, how do you use it? Like I'm pretty sure you need to conduct experiments on it and then transfer the data into it (correct me if I'm wrong though), but in that case, does it still generate science if you use experiments that gave you zero science at all because you've conducted that same experiment a few times before?

So a while ago i remember following Scott Manley's Interstellar quest as well as the reusable space program series. He used mods in those videos. You seem like the kind of guy to like KSP stock but i don't think that given the right amount of mods to offer more "end game goals" would make a good series. Just a thought, im sure if anyone wanted to try what you do in your modded series they would understand the needed mods.
@o0alessandro0o
@o0alessandro0o 6 лет назад
You can set a number of maneuver nodes beforehand, so deleting a maneuver node is pretty much the same as letting you set up a new maneuver node. Since you can send 100% and 0% thrust commands even with commnet off, you can actually perform a full maneuver without commnet. So, the limitation to deleting maneuver nodes is meant to let you program in one and only one maneuver, which your probe will then execute "on its own" (even though you are the one actually hitting the burn keys). It's annoying, but it makes sense when you think about it.
