KSR May 2024 Shop Updates!! Classic OBS Ford Truck!! 

That thumbnail had me thinking you got a new shop for a second.

Now that is what we call a good workplace. The banter, the digs and the friendship. Curious about the brazing, maybe on one of these episodes yall could show that happen. It turns out everyone in the shop does work lol!

This this looks like a great place to work. You guys are young so you may not appreciate how rare this kind of place is. When you are old and retired (like me) you may look back at the time you worked here and think that it was a great time in your life.

Working with all those young people will keep you young.

No power? Take that as a sign...time to go home!! lol The comradery between you guys is awesome, makes for a better workplace! Oh by the way...glad to see a Ford in the shop, thought that maybe Florida didn't have any Fords there!! LOL Thanks for the update!!

Hey Kevin, emergency lights are pretty cheap and a big help in a dark shop like that. Mine has no windows at all, so if the power goes out it is pitch black. My shop is also not quite as well organized as your. I think if I had to try and find my way out in the dark it could be fatal.

Line to line is really good I have watched/seen a lot of good results from multiple people also

with the 302 intake swapped around thats standard fitments on the Australian 302. the holley setup you are putting in that is the setup I need you guys to quote me on. killer work as always lads.

What's the easiest way to lower a Ford pick-up? Remove the wheels and tires off of it. What's the easiest way to lower a Chevy car or truck? Remove the cinder blocks out from under it. ;)

Line 2 line is the shit. It'll take up that gap and create a low friction coating. Awesome.

Like i said before, i am true blue ford but i love the cutlass, the only gm ive ever liked and can't wait to see it run down Gainesville raceway again like the old days, just way faster! Poindexter still got his old g body malibu? Hell we could have a reunion 😂😂! You guys are the best!

The 302 intake flip was something Ford Australia did as a factory installation on the 90’s to early 2000’s Falcons and Fairlanes etc. that was to make them work with our right hand drive cars.

The trucks are Crown Vic/ GM Mercury were on that side of engine. Mustang were on other side.

Time 1217 The Ford metal coffee can for vacuum. Some 70's Fords used an oil filter can mounted to the side of the air filter housing to act as a resonator.

Speaking of LS throttle bodies on Ford's... I did a termi-x-max on a bronco build. Used a GM drive by wire throttle body and CTSv pedal on a pushrod 302... Works flawless

Sadly Florida has become one of the most expensive places to live now 😢 real estate prices have over doubled and building materials are priced outrageously. Yet in a few years, I’m betting you will be able to make some moves if you choose. Keep up the great work, and keep us updated. We’ll be here watching.

I have the Line To Line coating on my 385 stroker and it is quiet even on a cold morning in the north east, my oil never really turned black like I have heard but then my engine sat for about a month before I got around to breaking it in. 👍😎👍

Ford IAC.... Kevin you're 100% correct... The Ford units are super lazy and can cause some wicked harmonic resonance in the intake tube...(To be fair they're only lazy when closing, they do compensate for loads like AC and whatnot quite rapidly)... They just sometimes are super slow to close

This might be a long shot, but, if I could get the part numbers for the intake, throttle body, IAC, and the motion adapter plate, that would be amazing.

@KSR Hey Kevin if that is a routine thing during rainy season where the power goes out then why haven't you got a 220v to 240v 8000w inverter pure sine wave petrol or diesel generator on standby so that you can flick a switch to disconnect street power to then go to generator power which would power the whole shop. A 8000w inverter pure sine wave generator will set you back about $3K & the the simple switches & hook up might cost you around $1K & you'll never have another problem again.

We was at indy this year our 2nd time but i never seen a booth for your merch or I'd grabbed something & save on the shipping as I'm om limited funds every month & we save up over the year for the next year I drive the 2.5 hours down from South Bend & we get a room for 2 nights & stay thur & fri then drive home sat night !

BTW if you didn't see it, Garrett is finally living up to the birth of Cleetus with a 69 Camaro Pro Mod. Beautiful truck, don't even want to know how much rust is hiding under that paint. Perfect color for a Ford too, not far off the color of the one I fell asleep in the wheel of in 1989 at Arco Arena.. Bigfoot... I was 4 and I rode down and back on the back of my godfather's Harley bagger. (Ultra Glide Classic I believe) Slept both ways lol. I think that experience is a big part of why I'm a Ford guy and why I love the 70's F100 bodystyle so much, because that's what the original Bigfoot was. Unfortunately with the popularity of Crown Vic chassis swaps on them they are now so incredibly expensive that you can't get a rust bucket for under $3k. Mine was a 76 F100 4X4 Custom with a 360FE and a NP435/NP203 with no low range.. and they changed the smog laws so that 76 and newer had to be smogged forever right as I was about to pull all the smog crap off mine... that and needing a clutch after my brother in law drove it a couple months made me sell it. I miss that truck more than anything else I've owned despite the Mustang sounding so much better. That truck handled FAR better than any truck ever should, especially 4X4. I threw away the F Series Haynes manual so I wouldn't be tempted to buy an 80's-90's F150 after owning the 95 Bronco.. smog laws being what they are there's just no point to them these days, 200hp at best and 10mpg is just stupid. If I'm going to be limited to 200hp I'll buy a Mini S and get good mileage and have a car that's a blast to drive! (honestly I swear that a Mini S is the best starter drag & drive car you could buy.) Don't appologize for the IAC that was designed in the early 80's and never fixed.. that thing is a known POS.. and another issue I had with my Bronco that was always hunting for idle rpm from 425 to 900. Personally I would've ditched that style intake manifold for a normal 4brl style if given the chance. Those things may make okay torque but they've been proven to absolutely DESTROY horsepower and even mileage. A regular air gap style intake is the far better choice. Kyle from the Boosted Boys had the same thing with the window happen on both his doors on the MR2.. obviously the lexan kit they used was crap, or the carbon wasn't strong enough or both.

Wasted a lot of time on 302. My 90’ Bronco was always weak. Here in Republic of Texas once car is 25 years old ZERO emissions laws apply. Stroke that puppy to 331 or 347. AFR 185 heads. Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 kit, and Lykins Motorsports custom cam. Easy 400+ hp under 6000 rpm’s. Clear all that cumbersome Ford style intake, emissions, throttle body, other sheet.

Nothing like 230hp in a big heavy 4x4 truck. Those things were such dogs with a 302. They weren't real sporty with the 351.

get Eddie a full face particulate respirator for working on carbon fiber. that shit is not good for you. I'm pretty lax with PPE but cancer rates are high enough for A&P mechanics to make Hazzard pay on those airframes.
