I understand that people are upset that the song doesn't sound like the original, but it's better that the artist did her own spin on it than just do nothing special and imitate it just for recognition. Edward Medina Sure. My father is a musician and he is often very stuck-up in his tastes because he's known them all of his life. Its a never-ending journey for him to encourage his open-mindedness with newer artists.. though he's totally allowed to like what he likes.
If we wanted a cover that sounds tbe same, we can listen to karaoke. Lol! Fresh takes are much more enjoyable. Sure, Simple Minds do a great job, but KT adds to it with her own interpretation. It's all good 👍

***** Ummm... YES you can. It's called a cover and covers that try something new are the most interesting. It's great when artists try something different with a cover. If you want the original melodic scheme go listen to it ffs. Saying someone "Can't" do this is ridiculous. beat it.
