Spot on with observations. I own this machine with 6k+ kms on odo. I am still trying to gel with this machine. I come from avenger 220 bs4 (7 yrs of cruising), totally different machine for me. The positive you told , the power , made me buy it . But you are right for touring this is not the best in this range. I would rate honda cb350 and suzuki vstorm 250 above this for touring. My personal choice vstorm 250. Oen question : I fee the handle bar is not parallel to the odo console unit. I have observed this on my bike too, that results in left shoulder pain. Also I struggle with the right adjustment of the handlebar. Maybe its just me.
Yes i have felt this handle problem too and i did inform the owner but he said he is used to it and doesn't bother him For the shoulder pain you can try adjusting the levers as per your reach that might help
None of the indian reviewers understand the KTM suspension theory i guess. If suspension is soft you cannot jump with that bike bcos it will bottom out. All KTM riders in other countries actually ride the KTM very fast and saddle on it. Refer the videos by Adam Riemann.
@@thisisganesh BTW, KTM brands this bike as adventure.... Moreover no bike is all rounder. That Dominar doesnt do well on those broken patches as well. Himalayan struggles at top end... So whats the sweet spot with that 3 lac rupees.. :) Else you need to get 790 or T7 or Tiger if you want everything.
@@kamalchoudhury2910 i have ridden dominar 250 extensively with pillion (130kg total) and Dominar is lot better than ktm, suzuki vstrom in bad roads especially for "touring" Topend is not required for touring so Himalayan can be a better option too (maybe wait for himalayan 450 as this one has got old) KTM is probably my last option in this budget if i want to do touring Yes No bike is perfect but for "touring" there are better options than KTM adventure My sweet spot for "touring" will be either dominar 250 or Himalayan 400 since my speed is 80-90 max anyway and use the saved up money for touring If all i had to do was trash the bike on bad roads solo maybe the ktm adventure makes sense But then why not the Xpulse 200 its cheaper and will cost less to maintain I hope you get the point 🤞 Anyway what would you buy for "touring" if you had 3 lacs?
@@thisisganesh I had a honda hornet, a TB 350(old), a first gen Himalayan(could not keep up with its quality issues..). I sold all... :) Have a 390 adv now. I found KTM quality is top notch. I go alone if its on a motorcycle & light. Bcos thats when u r totally free! :) With family there is a car to carry all... Considering to buy another motorcycle for another family member. So was browsing internet casually to hear what other ppl are saying.
Good one buddy …. Jus one question ..? Can we buy 250 duke n modify for touring .. coz everything is same instead of radiator and little more ground clearance bs4 duke has 180mm and adv has 200mm
Yes i will suggest ypu to get the duke 250 and get handlebar risers Air cushion seats Aux lights Everything else is pretty much same If possible wait for next gen duke 250 They might have bigger speedo like 250 advs
There is a price difference of merely 8-9k between these two.. why would u buy duke nd put more on making it a tourer when u can get everything on the Adv
