engine wise the ktm would walk on the ltr all day even tho the ltr was a 493cc big bore.BUT the ktm was really uncomfortable and i clipped a tree with it and bent the frame instead of the tie rod.go figure lol.but the fuel injection on the ltr was super responsive and it was super comfortable.so me personally id choose the ltr 450 over the 10,000 dollar ktm anyday.thanks for watching!
the ktm i had pulled through the low range all the way to the top end.it didnt stop pulling.the 525 is almost too much for the woods.and the suspension was redone by JET on the ktm and it was okay but the best thing about the rear end is that they r a no link rear suspension.so there is no link hanging down to hang up in ruts which i did like.
oh yea man dont get me wrong the ltr was strong too with yoshi cams and 493cc big bore but that ktm 525 with a ported and polished baldwin head was just more engine.but ltr is my favorite 450.
Here we see the smaller mx bikes running for there life's as the meat eating quads hunting in pairs try to snag some dinner ! But lucky this bikes Made it for the time being. But the big meat hungry quads are still out there ....... Great vid guys new sub here 👍🏻 ps I was a bit stoned an than made me laugh about the hunting
damn man woow yu have a own forest where yu can drive? really cool video in germany without driving license were really fucked bcause here almost everithing is private im lucky that my uncle is farmer and he has a place where i can drive sometimes but otherwise i get real problems with the owners
how is ktms power curve? i remember stock ltr (with cherry bomb and removed exhaust baffle) was top end oriented, in low rpms engine was almost dying, not a big problem but a bit inconvinient sometimes. alltough its not a surprise its meant to be an mx atv. and how is stability? ltrs supposed to be a 50 inch mx quad so ktm must be really tippy or is it? i remember ltr was floating a lot on dirt road. but thats only quad ive road i dont know if its normal.
Are those ktms 525 as reliable as a honda or Yamaha 450s in the desert? Ive heard Ktm 450 are no good, but being a 525 an older engine i would think they are good.
cir bar yes. I had 77hrs on a 450xc(the third owner) so not sure how many hrs it had total. I had no issues with the motor. 5-10hr oil changes and valves every 20hrs. The stock motors don’t like being on the rev limiter, if you constantly on it then you will have issues. Otherwise pretty solid motors. Maintenance...maintenance....maintenance!!
