Wheelies always end like this video, eventually! Long wheelies stops that front wheel spinning, then when the front wheel touches down, tank slapper follows.
man i had the same bike... have totaled 3 motorcycles in my life i can tell you these motorcycles are not for long wheelies when the front wheel stop spinning you lose all the stability of the motorcycle and then u land it with the wheell a bit steered and you get a huge tank slapper and espesially at high speeds its unsavable keep strong and safe
Thank you I totally agree with you, even though I landed correctly with the wheel straight, this happened. No way to recover. I should have been more careful and not go on long wheelies... (But it's just too good !! :D ) Cheers, ride safe
Happened exatly to me 11 months ago...the car in front of me hit the brakes on purpose ...lots of titanium in my pelvis and surgery fucked up my tendón ...not a good bike under heavy braking at all
hope that you and your motorcycle are in good shape again, I love this motorcycle actually I have the black and the orange 950 SM, as well as the 990 adv, I just recovered from a tank slapper, it was not at high velocity but I pulled the front break hard and the front wheel was not straight, it happened so fast, it just slammed me on the floor. compared to the 990 Adv, the 950 SM are less obedient, stubborn uncomfortable but are a lot of fun specially in the streets of caracas where you can practically do urban cross with no rules, it let you do things that no other motorcycle can, but I guess now at the age of 64, I have to control myself a bit more. Keep riding and have fun.
First you learn to wheelie at a slow pace on the balance point after mastering that, then you can accelerate in speed. You spent a whole year practicing a reckless habit
He would still have crashed in this case. No amount of riding slow on the back wheel is going to prepare you for what happens when you put the front wheeld down unaligned with the back wheel. That’s a completely different skill set getting out of a death wobble, and he got it bad. Not too many riders are capable of handling that
As an ex rider, I can relate. I read your replies and consider yourself one of the lucky ones. It's just too good to do, I had a standard bike before (no where near as powerful but still fun bike). I hope you have recovered and moved on to either 4 wheels or something with less torque. Personally I don't have the discipline to keep my right hand in check.
"something with less torque"... Well I chose the torquiest (is that a word ? 😳) bike from Ktm ! So far so good, crossing fingers. I don't ride the same way I used to, that's for sure
You can drive i can tell have the same type of riding style as this i think this happened because your front wheel wasn't spinning anymore because of the long wheelie and if you combine the stiff front forks with at that speed the speed wobble is than extremely unpredictable
1 year mark, did that happen because the front wheel got caught on a stone or something? Or maybe because it wasn`t spinning and the speed was too high? What is your thoughts to why it happened? 175kph wheelie 8month mark, is crazy...and i mean the speed.
on the last clip, you brought up the wheel in 2nd gear without the clutch, right? did you also pull the handlebars? mine doesnt seem to lift the front wothout the clutch
This is crazyyyyy...i wanted to write about ur landings after watching ur videos...then this video pops up...damnnnn hope ur wel...do an update video please.
I was thinking on buy one as my first mopart bike but I think it don't look like beginners can I ask what happened to you after the crash u broke some bones? And I wanna know if after the accident you got scared to motorcicles
Thanks for your comment, i find it interesting. I did not suffer ANY injury, I was wearing Dainese from head to toe. And I wasn't scared after the crash, only sorry for the bike. Then I had a scooter and it took me a few years to get another bike so I suppose the fear was present, even if not felt 😁 I did not pull any wheelie with the new bike 😇 . . . ... yet 😈
@@ktm950sm3 ooh aight thanks to take the time and reply,, damn you where Lucky so in resume you only got scared not to felt off again but to hurt your new bby hahaha got it , so the KTM was a completly lost? i'm glad u ok and that u wear a dainese, in the vid looks Like u only were using a Levis jean so its definately not a begginers bike?? ,,, this guy xD said yet... lmao 🤣🤣
Fuck, well at least you're ok. I had an accident on my 950 SM on Sardegna last may and got incredibly lucky. I hit a tree instead of falling down a cliff and my bike was okay for the most part. Only had to spend ~400€ on repairs. I'll miss the Videos man, hope you're back on two wheels soon!
Thank you so much ! It didn't look too bad indeed, but looking closer you could see too many vital parts were broken and/or destroyed... I had to let her go...
KTM 950 SM Glad you're OK. You should know that your POV videos are among my favorites, if that helps to ease the pain of losing the 950. I hope you get back on a bike soon, and stay safe.
The temperature meter on my bike on display stays max. Everything works fine, fans and bike doesn't get too hot. But the meter on the display stays max. Any help?
@@crashbangwhallopwhatavideo look into the rebuild kit for the impeller shaft..the seal is too tight and wears a groove in the shaft..so it's not good coolant mixes with the oil ..every 13k miles its recomend to change...
In order to end like this, no way my friend 😆 Be smarter than me, don't wheelie with a big fat bike like this one, especially without a steering damper. Ride safe
the front tire has the speedometer clocked on it, so when hes doing a wheelie the real speed isnt showing and its only showing the front tires current speed.
Hope you are OK! The bike will be fine - I just revived one with front collision... I was about to ask you if you can show your gimble/ chesty mount setup in future video, but now I guess it is the last thing that you want to think of. Cheers and hoping for new videos soon!
Merci pour ton soutien ! C'est clair que les guidonnages c'est la grosse vacherie, ça peut se produire comme ça peut ne jamais arriver. J'aurais dû me méfier davantage...
Wouaw, I hope you feel good... Thx because lot of people think it's easy to get high 😒... It's not easy and you take lot of risk, watch it... Drive safely 😝
Well thank you ! I accept this compliment because it was scary indeed !! Even though I knew I had more than 50 cm of clearance, it looked like I was about to touch the ceiling !
KTM 950 SM haha I can imagine ! I have a ktm 690 SMC R 2012 that I recently bought and I have been watching videos like yours just to get an idea of the skill level that is possible doing wheelies I hope I get to your skill level ! 🤣👍👏 I’m going to a private road to start practising this week haha
The SM gets great reviews….it’s a Supermotard hooligan machine….pop a few wheelies here and there. Need a damper if you’re pulling long wheelies like this…
Why would I do that? You must suppose I'm a frustrated teen who can't handle haters. Besides, I love reading that kind of nonsense, you're in the wrong place with the wrong crowd my friend ;-) Thank you for your comment! Love
@@ktm950sm3 got deleted on your previous vids.. however, what's nonsense about what i write? is it okay to ride 170 through a street and endanger others and yourself? you are just reckless
