Bought a second hand 200 6 days ago, already feel like I've outgrown it. Here in Thailand its highway capable, however I'm uncomfortable with how close the engine is to redline in 6th gear going just 110kmph. Took it for a 45 minute late night ride and the temperature is also near peak. Im going to try some Motul Mocool to get the temperature down. Possibly a fan shroud replacement as well. The temp runs uncomfortably high due to the high compression engine. For the city streets, the 200 is a ripper, fun to ride and easy to handle with big bike components. The 200 is very rev happy, you can definitely feel the power surge from 7k to 10k rpm, most noticeable in 2nd and 3rd gear, which makes it perfect for city riding. End of the year I'd like to swap out to a 390 or bigger. One thing I don't like about this bike is the exhaust note, which it had a bit more throaty growl rather then a crackly rattle.
Some bikes are made to almost "redline" the heat before the fan comes on , why ? ; because it saves gas and battery juice ( and noise) to not run the fan unless absolutely needed , and for a small engine the fan cools it quickly enough. The 200 now comes with ABS btw.
As i experience..wag mo xang pababayaan sa ulanan kc pinapasok yung gasoline tank nya ng tubig ulan ..pero matibay at ang sarap pang overtake nyan hindi ka ipapahiya
@juan de Dios... naku boss... i can’t comment po about NK400 or Dominar kasi indi pa ako nagkaroon ng ganung bikes. pero pagkakaalam ko Dominar ang pinakamura sa tatlong bike na pinag uusapan natin na pwede sa expressway
It answers a lot of my questions about the pros and cons ng duke. Very informative sharing ng experience mo. Thank you and waiting for your future uploads. God bless.
Thanks for the very comprehensive review sir. I'm honestly looking at Duke 200 for my upgrade from Suzuki Gixxer 155 FI, ... but I think your right Sir, skip the 200 then move to next bigger displacement nalang... plus, the high maintenance - good thing you mentioned that sir since I forgot to take that into consideration.
come to think of it, higher cost but longer intervals. as long as wala masira pyesa, you should be good. but then again, bigbikes are of a different level. 😊
Ride safe always and God bless🙏
Boss I really appreciate your feedback, planning to buy this bike tomorrow sana. Because, I feel more about the bad side but I'm thinking to have a bike rather than nothing ..kasu nga lang baka mag sisi aku for maintenance ng bike.. hayy nalilito nku..
woahh!!! glad I saw this video. planning to get 2nd hand duke200 but I'm thinking about the maintenance of the bike. I had a R15 V3 before and I sold it due to the riding position (nakaka ngawit talaga). But now I'm targeting to get myself a second hand naked sport bike just to try if it will be good for me, since di nga ako comportable sa sports bike. well my main problem is the maintenance talaga since 2nd hand balak kong kunin mahirapan lang ako sa parts hahaha siguro di ko na lang ituloy pag kuha ko ng duke200. thanks sa video !!!! very well explained!!
maintenance honestly is just a normal thing. siguro it would really just depend on the unit if buying a 2nd hand po. so far, the duke200 in this video is 2 years alreay and nothing broken down. nasa alaga na rin po siguro ng may ari 😊
@@BossTLPH But it still a 2nd hand unit kase hahaha syempre di mawala sa isip mag alala sa condition ng unit. may iba pa naman owner di sinasabe hidden issue ng unit then ikaw na makaka encounter after ilang araw hahaha tapos mahirapan pa sa parts haha yan naisip ko kase talaga what if may need palitan na minor parts tapos wala ko mahanapan di kagaya ng Big 4 kahit saan shop halos meron nang need mo basta minor parts lng Hahaha.
@@BossTLPH But still I love KTM lalo na etong duke at RC series nila napaka macho talaga. pero sa ngayon talaga mukang skip muna ko sa KTM since I already found out yung parts availability talaga is mahirap 😥. Maybe I'll try to consider naman the GSX S150 mukang okay din eh. MT15 is way more better for me lang ahh but namamalahan pa ko sa 2nd hand price nya hahaha mataas pa sa market.
Salamat at nagkaron ako Ng idea about sa duke.. actually.. I'm planning to get the duke 200 2020.. galing ako sa scooter.. ngayon napapaisip na ko bumile.. or just invest sa another scooter.. which more reliable..
actually sir okay naman ang duke, or any bigger displacement manual bike.you just need to consider lang din talaga na magkakaroon din sila of their own usual issues, and definitely a higher maintenance costss
@@pablodee9606 you have a point there sir. however, indi rin kasi advisable to max out the oil change interval sa bigger bikes upto 5k kms... usually 3k kms ang advisable with full synthetic oil. but yeah, if you sum it up, di rin masyado nagkakalayo, although mas mahal pa rin onti ang bigger bikes.
actually yun din opinion ko before. pero it changed kasi when i got to try the configuration nung 2nd gen. for some reason, it is more maneuverable at mas magaang dalhin.
Duke 200 ride hot, it's in the manual. I was scared at first, but as long as the fan comes on, you're good. I do have the itch to upgrade now. Might end up getting divorced. Good luck friends!! Haha
actually boss you can’t go wrong with both. ang sa akin lang, if you want a more “bigbike” feel, you’ll get it from the duke 200 2020 regardless of the specs sheet. 😉
@@BossTLPH yes idol gusto ko feel like bigbike. Actually Most of my friend they advice me to select ktm390 kc konte nlng nman legal na for expressway. Hehe salamat dn sa advice idol riding safe god bless.
@@coachmike5341 yes that is true!!! pinagdaanan ko rin kasi yan and i can really say, you’ll wish nag 390 ka na lamg after getting used with the 200 in just a month. hehe. iwasan mo na lang muna magtest drive ng 390 sir pag yung 200 ang binili mo. hahaha.
maintenance at the casa, mahal po. pero something you need to do because of the warranty. depende kasi sa mga gagawin, ranges from 1.8k for the first PMS, to as high as 3000, pero mahaba naman ang intervals ng PMS. for the change oil you canhave it done outside thru trusted KTM shops. budget ka po around 1.6k pero may natitirang oil you can accumulate para you can use in lter change oils. again longer intervals, around 3k for good oils like liquimoly.
So considering parang parehas parin gagastos mukha lang mahal kase all in na yung maintenance ng ktm e
Thanks for the very informative specs on the KTM 200. What type of MOTUL oil can I use for the change oil of my Duke 200? Do you also have an info on the spec of the oil filter?
Boss, ask ko lang.. planning to have one too.. Big help po for beginners like me. MORE POWER AND GOD BLESS PO!
to be honest, indi naman talaga maaalis yung concerns lalo na sinabi indian bike. but these are now assembled locally. so quality has improved a lot. i’d still prefer this one over the MT15
sir okay lang ba siya for beginner? as in beginner lang sa pag momotor na marunong lang mag bisekleta? yung wala pang history na pag papaandar ng motor. salamat
in all honesty boss, kaya, pero syempre mas mahirap. sa ibang bansa kasi, ang starter bikes nila talaga e 400cc. it is always advisable to start with smaller bikes, pero i started with a 200cc honda dirtbike dati. kinaya naman.
Is this a good first bike for a short framed man with 164cm and 60kg? I am 75 year old and just got a license two month ago. Highway legal engine size is 150cc of above here in the US. Thank you.
average cost po. 2L of oil po plus oil filter and labor. if you have it done sa casa, oil change nya is P1.8k. motorex ang oil, standard oil ng KTM. i prefer using liquimoly, so next oil change was done outside, costed me P2k po.
medyo biased ako boss e. hahaha. i will still go for the duke200 lalo na kung v2 2020 version. bigbike ang feels talaga!!! 😊 the one good thing na meron ang mt15 though is the slipper clutch which i really enjoy sa duke390 ko ngayon. suke all the way! 🤟🏼
bkit ang mahal ng change oil abot 2k? 1.25 lng nmn engine oil nya dba?.....much beter to know how to change oil on your own bka sa casa nag pa change oil..
Quite a few. Main camera is mounted on the helmet cam - GoPro Hero 7. The other cam which showed different 360 shots is an insta360 OneX mounted on Andoer clamp. I just place it on different mounting points on my bike. sometimes i use dedicated action cams like Hero3 and Hero4 to take shots on different points on the bike.
magandang bike po ang duke200. dont get me wrong. sulit naman po sya with all the pros you will be getting from this bike. especially if you will be getting the duke 200 2020 model. pero kung kaya naman ng budget, i suggest straight na kayo sa duke 390 😊. same handling but a more powerful engine
to be honest, MT15 is not really bad naman. marami nga actually test sa india, mas mabilis ang MT15 kaysa duke200. but i go for the duke200 because i like the way it looks. mas feel ko pagka bigbike nya kasi over the MT15. pero lapit na budget mo sa 2nd hand 2nd gen Duke390!!! yun na lamg boss! di ka magsisisi!
@@glennrn368 if you are thinking of getting a bike... consider a bigger bike which can take the expressways (if you’re in the phil). i would go for a 2nd hand 390 over a bnew 200 if given the choice. go for the 2nd gen
that is true po. i did mention it naman sa video sir. again, i was doing the review based on the experience i had during that time po. i think i was lucky not having any issues with the bike.
