Clean chain with diesel leave it to dry and then apply 90 gear oil and do the chain adjustment that's it if u don't clean in diesel u will not be able to clean the chain completely
Never use WD40 on your chain for cleaning purpose because it makes the chain completely dry and it may reduce the life of chain instead you use Diesel or Kerosene , ""When you bought a 4lakh bike you can atleast purchase a chain lube worth of 200rs which can last for 4 times""
WD40 is used for only degreasing/ cleaning the chain not for lubing. Afterwards I have lubed it with gear oil so chain isn’t running dry. Yes you can use kerosene/ diesel if is available. But remember WD40 is way better product because of its multifunctional properties and very easy to use. And why would I go for 200rs chain lube which only last for 4 times where 100 rs gear oil can be used for years and both are providing similar lubrication. Also the products I have shown isn’t limited to 4 lakh bike but can be used for any bike and even cycles.
Gear oil for lubricating this chain, but why🫣🤦♂️. Bike manual clearly mentions that you need to use KTM recommended chain lube spray. If you can spend money for WD40 then why cut corners on lubricant. And this gear will only make the chain more dirty. I myself own the gen 3 model and actually read the manual hence telling you as a fellow biker
Lubrication is to be done every 400-500 kms and every bike company will advertise their products only whether it is chain lube or engine oil. All chain lubes has same ingredients so its upto you for which brand you want to go depending on your pocket. Also chain lubes if compared with gear oil doesn’t last long and are very costly as well. Total cost you will spend in chain lubes for complete life of chain-set will buy you another chain-set. Also chain lubes will increase life span of chain set by few 1000 kms only which is similar to what gear oil will offer. Yeah there are few demerits of gear oil as well but it’s totally up to you what you wanna prefer. Im just providing a cheaper alternative to my fellow bikers 😊.
