Burbonerist you probably get 150 hours out of the piston if you don’t race or ring it out all the time,if you ring its neck every time you ride, then you probably need to replace piston every 60 to 80 hours
I love the 2 strokes they have awesome power and sound a 250 4 stroke cant touch them on a mx track they always have 250 2 strokes racing against 450 4 strokes how is that fare?
as far as the dude who commented on armathuxs excessive smoke...,ITS A 2 STROKE IN COLD WEATHER which together is a combination of water vapor burnoff mixed with actual 2 stroke exhaust smoke makes it seem compounded but is also more prevalent visuaslly looking like huge amounts due to the angle of the sunlight hitting the smoke it almost fills the billow up w light also making it look like a shit load of smoke....that bike is jetted great for the climate conditions AND MAYBE A TAD RICH ON PREMIX RATION BUT A GOOD INSURANCE POLICY AND THAT beast IN THE BEGINNING WHEN COLD STARTED IT SOUNDS LIKE A BIG BORE KX500 OR SOMETHING that sound was straight up nasty as hell....sounds perfect.....
Hey guys I need some help. I just rebuild the piston and rings on my 2009 ktm150sx. How do I “break it in?” Thanks for the advice I’m pretty new to this.
Jude to break mine in, I went through the gears, about 10 minutes each, don’t hit power band at first, take it easy, really isn’t a need for a break in tho👍🤭
I respect you gotta 2 stroke. I just bought a bran new yz250 smoker. Fucker rips. Broke it in and I will rip it cold. I bet it last 20 years like my last bike.
If you got black goo on your exhaust and leaking, it could be because you let the bike sit, you gotta get on and warm it up, letting it sit is wasting oil, so it becomes goo!
