No problem and watched your video with interest. Hoping KTM can figure out a way of improving the reliability of the CCPS system. Seems like many people are having problems and when it goes bad it's not fun to ride... :-(

I think the issue is the rapid change in + and - pressure, and air/oil mixture entering the hose.. but what do i know... my bike has about 300 hours on it, about 100 of those with a bad sensor..

Thanks for your interest. Yes, I have just started selling the brass CCPS coupler fittings. They're available from the Tokyo Offroad webshop (shipping from Japan), or if you're in the US you may like to purchase from Taco Moto. The kit includes a couple of much easier to use hose clamps and instructions. Note that modification of the plastic tray is required: www.tokyooffroad.com/product/ccpscoupler/ tacomoto.co/products/tokyo-off-road-tpi-ccps-coupler-kit?_pos=1&_sid=ed1d6da87&_ss=r I doubt the sensors are failing due to overpressure, but would need to perform failure analysis on one to know for sure.

I shipped a couple of brass fittings to customers last week who made strong requests. Yes, I'm planning on listing the fitting on the Tokyo Offroad webshop in the next week , or two. It should be noted that the tray needs to be modified (12mm hole and about 18mm diameter of 1mm relief on the top side) for the brass fitting to be installed. To create the relief I used a milling machine with a 18mm end mill, but a rotary tool could be used if you're careful.

As I mentioned in the video, attaching the hose directly to the sensor chimney may result in a better seal, but may be difficult to keep secure (as there is no barb). I’d be concerned about long term reliability as the hose is quite stiff and may result in the sensor chimney cracking, or breaking off.

Typically this type of sensor is not designed to handle solvent entering the sensor and doing so may result in damage, or performance degradation. This is why I recommended not doing so in the video. But if you have a non-functional sensor which bunged up with oily residue, that’s not to say that trying to cleaning it out might get it working better, but it might further trash it too. If it’s really not working well I guess you don’t have much to lose by trying.

Yes, my pressure sensor package was not cracked. Internally there must have been an issue, or the seal between the sensor and tray wasn't good.

Sorry to hear about the problem. If you have a new CCPS install it and see how it runs. If you don't have a new sensor you could try swapping the Atmospheric pressure sensor in the CCPS (they are exactly the same part number). Also clean out the CCOS hose and fitting. Some people have reported that the plastic tray sensor housing does not create a good seal with the o-ring, so inspect the area that the oring seals against. I do sell a brass coupler which can be installed in to the plastic tray to help ensure a good seal (note that the tray requires modification- do sell modified trays to).

@@TokyoOffroad thank you for your quick reply, I don’t have a new sensor and I reckon I already mixed up both sensors when cleaning and now don’t know which is which :/ about the brass couple I didn’t know you selling them but after seen your video I searched and bought one from Ali and now just waiting to install it, one thing I didn’t mention and you probably be able to help please. I’ll paste here if you don’t mind my question Imon ThumperTalk which had no answer yet. You could be of any help I much appreciate it. “Hi fellas, I’m not an expert at all but decided to give it a go and try to fix my bike ( ktm 2020 tpi 300exc) the bike was running poorly, bogging, fouling plugs etc so I removed the tray that holds both pressure sensors and it was super dirty but what made me wondering was that the crank case sensor had fuel in it like it was wet still and smelled petrol. Anyone knows if my sensors are &%$#@!? Is there a way to test them? Another thing is when I removed the throttle body it had a lot of 2t oil in it and I also realised the pipe and exhaust full of oil like the spark plug. I bought this bike with 119hours and was told it had top end done at 110hours, she was running great for the first 8hours but now is just a pain in the ass. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.”

In Japan the KTM model year 2017 was the last year of the 2-stroke carb bikes and first year with the engine balancer. Stock the 2017 was not very good (Mikuni carb ran horrible and suspension setting was soft and felt unstable at speed), but once modified to overcome these shortcomings the 2017 is a very nice bike to ride and I love riding mine (Keihin 38 with STIC, Dal Soggio Sphere cartridges, Ohlins TTX shock). Regarding TPIs, I think they have improved steadily since the first MY 2018 bike. It'll be interesting to see how the development continues with future models.
