Just when I thought I was feeling pretty confident with KTM. I... Have a long way to go with my own riding skills on my 1190 ADV R. Chris, thanks for showing me what the upper skill envelope looks like! MAD: thank you so much for bringing us this amazing video!
I'm 55, been riding road for 28 years on 900s, 1000s, 1400 and Harleys and decided to buy a run out 2020 1290 SAR, as I had lost the joy of road motorcycling. A week later I have just gone riding with a bunch of people from from Perth Adventure Riders a FB Group, rode 140ks through the hills forests in a well planned and run social event with 14 bikes, across the group of riders there were mltiple minor offs, loose bag, dodgy fuel pump and me getting cocky up a steep gravel hill with deep rivets. Too much throttle, too fast and came off . Bike has some minor damage. Wasn't going quick, reasonable safety gear. I wasnt hurt and the boys helped me back up. Funny thing was my pride wasn't hurt as I was having a crack. Outstanding day I won't forget. Chris you are an inspiration the way you ride, flowing technique and inspired me to hit the bush on a KTM. KTM thanks for the 1290 SAR, I can't wait to ride some iconic Australian rides with this amazing bike.
I was recently locked in a decision of which to buy between the KTM or the Ducati Multistrada Enduro ... From price difference, off road ability and somewhat partly convinced via this video, I bought the KTM, with no regret. Thanks! ... Great Drone imagery also.
I've just got to know. There are now 6 people who don't like the video I would love to hear from those who don't. It's killing me, tell me what's not to like about this video :)
Motorcycle Adventure Dirtbike TV Because there will always be some waste of space who cannot appreciate this amazing video. I wish I had a fraction of his riding skills.
more please! cant get enough of this big 1190 being yanked about like a 350! Chris has some serious bike control and talent pouring out his ears.. Good Stuff!
Rainer Diabl Thanks Rainer,I always know if your hyped then we've down our job with the filming. Once again thanks to Chris Birch for his good nature and patience. It's hard to ask him to ride through an icy river ten times. Mind you we genuinely have fun on the film shoots. Two solid days filming for this one. We've now got drones for some shooting and I'm so pleased we took them over to New Zealand, from my perspective that put this magnificent country into context, it really is Adventure Land.
This guy is the most amazing rider. I would love to hear why someone won't like this video. The video is awesome. Chris makes it look so easy. I'll be picking up my new KTM 1190R next week...can't wait.
7 months later, riding most days offroad and I'm just starting to crack it (and haven't totally trashed the bike yet - but that says more about how tough the bike is because it's been down a few times). The more you ride it, the lighter it gets.
Never been affected by marketing before but just bought a 1190 r after watching this. Might have to move to Oz to get some decent rides in. Thanks to Mr Birch for getting me psyched about riding again. Bring it on
I guess you would call it marketing, but that's not really why Chris and I made the video. Our aim was to just make a cracking video and fortunately during the two day shoot everything went well, real well. Many of those drone shots are one takes, same with POV and long range shots. We struggled on the first day of shooting but the second day everything came together.
Awesome work DD. Love footage of guys/gals at the top of their game. Drone video work is spectacular, well done. Makes me want to get out there right now, broken ankle or not........
Fantastic video and great production. This video fired up my off road sensors. We usually ride every Friday and I'm so fired up now. I also love the music track that goes so well with the video. I love it so much, I've subscribed to your channel. Brilliant, thank you so much.
Glad you enjoyed it! Two days to shoot. On the first day we really didn't have the shots, but it all came together on day 2. Very surprisingly, because of strong winds, all but one drone shot was a single take.
Whahoo! What a GREAT video! Thank you MAD TV. Chris Birch's riding skills are obviously from another planet, riding the 1190 ADV R like it was a 450 EXC. But the 1190 Adv R is also obviously an incredible machine. Not that I could ever ride it like that...
Agree. But what about the cameraman! I don't think I did too bad a job recording that in two days. Most drone shots were one take. In fact most shots were one, or possibly two shots. We knocked that over well within two days.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV my bad! Yes, the cameraman was awesome!! I hope he's paid well and has life insurance. And did I mention the videoing was fantastic!?! 😉 I recently bought a drone myself, actually. My husband and I ride GS850s (though not like Chris rides bikes!), and I am keen on videoing from the drone while I ride; of course, I can't do it on tar.....I have to do it on quiet gravel roads. But it's great being able to have a record of it all.
+Nicolas Mango Thanks Nicolas. Chris, my nephew Jono and I worked a solid two days to film this. Day 2 was when we really hit those great shots. We were so fortunate the weather came together for us and the sun lit up that gully for that spectacular wheel stand into the water. We shot that about 10 times before we were happy. Chris was soaked, but he kept going because he realised we were making something special. The opening shot of Chris going over that bridge, nearly didn't come off. It was a gusty wind, the sun was in Johno's eyes as he flew the drone and we were running out of battery. We got the shot with about 30 seconds to spare. We could have very well lost the drone in the gully below. I'm really proud of this video. At the end of the day you make your luck.
24 dislikes?! Who the hell would dislike a video like this?? I think I know why my videos might divide opinion and receive dislikes but this?! It bloody annoys me.
crackn vid mate!!!, every time I log on to youtube I watch this at least 2-3 times before moving onto the next vid!!.As for those poor souls who dont like this vid you cant please everyone.Keep the vids coming top stuff!!!!
Great job on this keeping the sound of the engine in the vid along with the music! Music was also very good, many vids are ruined by poor choice of music.
Great video, great skills, great bike! And I say this as a BMW rider ;).... Doesn't matter there are tons of great bikes out there! Would love to see another video from you guys keep up the great work!
just bought a 1190 adevneturer with all the extras- From 2017 - just love it, set up with paved road tires now, came across this video-- had nooo idea its even possible to ride like this on this big ass MC.. Just have to start practicing I guess...(realise this dude is a pro..)
