Morning Biff. Enjoyed the views and the bucket work. Hey, if it is possible or you want to, it would be helpful for guys like me, to understand what and how you are using the FEL to clear that brush, without removing much soil, and removing the saplings etc. For example, are you using the curl function at certain points and then the lift cylinders at other points, , are you ripping them out with the front edge of the blade, how much do you angle the bucket, back drag etc. Kind of a tutorial and explanation, as you are doing it, so we can see how you are utilizing it to get the job done. Maybe some views from the front of the action so we can see what it looks like as you are doing it/explaining it and some sections of film that are not fast -forwarded so I can follow along. LOL! Ok, I think that kind of turned into a big laundry list there, but would be very helpful for us guys trying to learn or practice how to use the FEL more effectively. Thanks Biff! Have a great week out there!

Afternoon GP! You bring up a great point! I really do need to make more of an instructive type video showing how I do some of my jobs. Lately I have been doing a lot of time lapse type videos as I only have 1 good camera and i think it looks good but I really need to invest in a second camera so that I can do multiple shots and angles for you guys but I just haven't had the funding yet for it. I will work on making a short video of me clearing some land in my backyard sometime showing what I'm doing when I'm clearing land as this is a great idea. Thanks for always checking out my videos GP I'm really glad you enjoy them.

I just got the Worksaver Electric Mini Grapple from Good Works Tractor for my BX 2380. Great compact set up. No third function needed. Had an early issue with the connection cable but they sent me a replacement next day. Nice alternative to hydraulic etc.

Tractor Time With Tim does some great videos! I use to love his older videos when he first got started when his channel was mostly based on just doing side work and I still will go back and watch them from time to time. I chose Kubota for its reputation and their bullet proof diesel engines with higher HP and torque specs than most others in the same class. I also got a great deal on my Kubota BX as I purchased it without an FEL and later on purchased/added the FEL for it myself so I would be lying if I said that wasn't a huge factor in why I ended up with a BX. That being said I think John Deere and Kubota make some of the best sub-compact tractors out there, second best IMO would be the New Holland 25S which is also a really fantastic tractor with its dual curl cylinders and its dual hydraulic pumps (Separate pumps for the trans + hydraulics) and the other would be the Messy Ferguson GC series tractors. There are lots of great sub-compacts out there though, so the best thing to do is to get on each of them and test them out for yourself and see which tractor feels the best for you, cuz at the end of the day the best tractor will be the one YOU feel comfortable on and the one you feel comfortable working with. Hope this helps!

@@BiffsEquipment When I was looking for a tractor, I had all main players side by side. Mahundra, New Holland, Kioti, Kubota and John Deere. In my research, I found out Mahundra tractors are just like Craftsman. They just have someone else build their tractor and slap on their name. Having had 2 Craftsman tractors and their associated problems trying to get parts, especially since SEARS is no more in Canada, I didn't want to venture down that path again. Kioti and New Holland are about the same as far as build and price and that was the reason I didn't go with them. The resale value is very low on these two. That left me with the real big players, Kubota and John Deer, to pick from. I might have gone for John Deere but they have something that looks like Apple. You have to buy everything JD if you want certain attachments. At least it was like that when I researched. They are improving but after reading they will sue people who want to fix their own tractor (big problem for farmers), they lost a sale. Is Kubota better than the rest? Yeah right. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. I broke my BX earlier this past summer and couldn't use my tractor for almost 3 weeks. The diff lock had broken and was fully meshed in. Talk about hard turning in a circle as the radius was being affected and the clunking sounds it made. Oh I didn't like that, let me tell ya. Now it is fixed and I am happy with what I bought. To each his own. I'm not going to piss on ya cause you drive a JD and I have a Kubota. This is as childish as Ford VS Chevy, Cat VS Cummins and so on. You have a tractor, I have a tractor. Let's leave it at that and enjoy the time you play with it. I know I do!!! LOL

@maineoutdoors8227
@maineoutdoors8227 4 года назад
@@BiffsEquipment My grapple is the Land Pride SGC0554. Neil Messicks put out a video a few weeks ago about the Artillian Modular Grapple. That's a more expensive grapple but it gives you options to have grapple and forks on the same attachment among other things. It looks good but not sure how expensive it is. Spend the $150 and get the skid plate, bxpanded has a great one that's very easy to install. I've got some video of both grapple and skid plate, I just been slacking on the editting.

That is a beautiful dog. My lord. Anyway I just wanted to ask you if you knew anything about the diff lock problem Kubotas seem to be having? Mine with only 143 hours had been running weird lately only to find that the diff lock, broke inside and was engaged ALL the time. If I pressed the pedal, it gave the impression that I was locking it but it was all dummy action. No wonder I was tearing up pavement and grounds like crazy turning left or right. Didn't even have to cut it hard, it was just ripping everything. I miss my little BX23S. :(
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 4 года назад
Thanks! Diesel is a really great dog, best $50 I ever spent! Wow yah sure sounds like your diff was stuck engaged, I have heard of this happening and have even had it happen to me before but on a John Deere and a new holland but never my bx.. when engaging the diff lock the pedal should not go all the way to the floor.. typically you want to wait till your spinning one tire then STOP and then put pressure down on the pedal and then go forward again.. this allows the diff to rotate again as one wheel begins to spin once again but then you will feel the diff pedal drop to the floor signifying that the diff pin has now been locked into place. A lot of mistakes people make are engaging the diff lock while in motion and if it does Engage while already in motion the Inertia could actually snap the Diff pin or make the diff pin hang up.. I would first check to see if it’s under warentee cuz it sounds like your tractor is pretty new, if not then jack up the rear end and grab one of the rear tires and try rotating it or wiggling it back and forth cuz if it’s not under any load the pin might come back unlocked and could just be frozen, also check the linkage going to the diff lock to make sure the linkage or spring didn’t fall off which could be keeping from pulling the locking pin back up to re-open the diff again once the pressure is released from the peddle. I hope this helps Dany! Lmk what you find out I’m def curious

@@BiffsEquipment It is under warranty. I have 2 years and 6 years powertrain. I'll be calling tomorrow as they have had it for a week now. I just hope they at the very least, had a look at it and started taking stuff apart. Found out from a salesman today that if you want something from Kubota like a snowblower, not to wait until November as it will be too late by then. Kubota is working at 1/2 speed right now for who knows how long. So I ordered my front snowblower. ☺

Looks good, that bucket leveling linkage is that a Kubota assembly?
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 4 года назад
Brad Mullins thanks Brad. Yep it’s a factory Kubota bucket level indicator made for the Kubota bx (LA340 and LA344) loaders only.. which comes on their newest bx2380, bx2680, and bx23S tractors. To be honest tho, they coulda built it a little stronger, I can’t tell you how many times I have bent mine thus far, it doesn’t take much, if you catch it on a small limb or tree branch that’s all it takes sometimes to knock it out of adjustment or bend it slightly so it isn’t accurate anymore. Iv noticed myself getting away from even using it anymore but it is a life saver at times specially when the tractor is new to you and your still getting use to it. I would still recommend it for the $70 extra it costs to purchase it as an add-on 👍🏻

Thankyou! It is a bx2370 and it has sure been a work horse for me! The amount of jobs/work I have done with this little tractor is mind blowing and it has NEVER failed me or broken down, infact it has over 700 hard worked hours on it and I haven't had to replace a single thing on it yet. What are you using for a pallet under your box blade?
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 4 года назад
Hey Jim, Those are super heavy duty ABS plastic pallets made to carry up to a few tons in load or more. I get them from a buddy of mine who gets them from his job, Big tubs of glue come on them and when they empty them the company throws out the pallets so that how I got the 2 I have. They are nice pallets for sure and I'm hoping some day to get a few more!

That's what I was thinking, I really like the Artillian set, its very well built and has multipul different attachments you can buy for the frame, Neil messick did a review on the Artillian grapple and for frame that was really good too, if you haven't seen it yet check his video out!
