I have been looking at a lot of tractors to replace my current one. I have been watching a lot of your videos on the L series tractor and I'm sold. I live down South so I won't be buying from you however your info has helped me make my decision on Kubota. Thanks, Chris
Ok, you convinced me so I bought a brand new R640 from my local dealer. Generally, I am happy with the machine with two exceptions. 1. No throttle lock. OMG how on earth did they forget to include this important feature (or am I missing it somehow? I hope so. Is it an option?). 2. The articulating joint top bearing won't retain grease, but rather it extrudes the grease aggressively after only a couple of hours of operation. I can tell when all the grease has been "pinched" out of the joint because the machine starts "squeaking" and "squealing" at the joint to the point that you can not stand it. It's a brand new machine with only 34 hrs and it has done this from the very beginning. If this can't be resolved and is considered a "normal" characteristic I will have to sell this loader (because I don't have the time and/or money to spend greasing a fitting every two hours) and move to a different manufacturer (and one that definitely includes throttle lock capabilities - my bad for not verifying the R640 had it but I didn't even think to ask as this should have been a given with this type machine especially since it's so easy to include with the electronic throttle system). Performance-wise the machine does fine. My unit serves as a piece of farming equipment so we don't need much more in the way of driving speed but we do operate on bumpy dirt roads and have longer transport runs loaded which is why the throttle lock is important to us.

There is one thing that could be better in my opinion and thah is attaching the lever to the seat. The slightly larger Giant G5000 has it so and that is nice. At least here in Europe we get loaders in 30-40 km/h (~25mph?) and with good (yes, more expensive) tyres the ride is comfortable. Maybe a silly question (I use loaders/tractors as utility machines): What is the thing with bucketsize? Regardless if it is imperial or metric, I just don't get it. Isn't the important things capacity in tons and reach in feet/meters?
I hope they never do as this economy tractor has a fantastic place in there line up. I hope dealers would get away from promoting HST models for folks primary tractor purpose is open field mowing and constant speed ground contact work.
@@andyfaivre5460 Yes, I don't want then to change much, just little updates or improvements. I've been looking for a good priced tractor and the newer b2401 is very interesting but if it's not enough, I'd hate to buy an l2501 and then they go improve it right after I buy it.
@@person86422 definitely, I’m in the same position. I’ve been heavily considering the 2401. I am hesitant only because of the amount of landscaping tasks I have, may be nicer to have the HST. I love the LX but on 4 acres that’s heavily wooded and landscaped it’s just too much tractor.
Quite a bit. because of the bushings need re machining, and required a a line bore, press or weld new sleeve and machine again. but the cylinder pin will use before the center pin, those are a bit cheaper, since precision less
What I don't understand on Kubota given the loader market beginning to become more popular here in the USA is why they don't come out with a small loader like Bobcat did over a year ago to compete with the European brands like Avant. I mean honestly how hard could it be as the Bobcat LS series loader has a Kubota diesel engine in it! And the thing about these small loaders whether it is Bobcat, Avant or someone else from Europe is that they can work hydraulic attachments made for the smaller skid steers. It just seems to me Kubota is missing the mark in the smaller market whether it is this type of product or coming out with a smaller skid steer like Bobcat's t450. Not everybody needs something in the size of a large John Deere or Caterpillar for what they want to do.
100% agree. I guarantee you the response they would give is because the market's not big enough yet. Kubota tends to let other people prove it out first. Then enter with something innovative.
@@MessicksEquip You're not the only dealer that feels that way. I talked to a Kubota dealer when I was looking at a trailer and he told me they were really disappointed that Kubota would not come up with a smaller skid steer than the last one they released. He said the dealers that he had talked to all thought that their customers and potential customers were wanting something not as heavy and not as wide as the 65 series.
They don't flow enough oil (or have enough engine power), for things that demand such oil flow like mowers/mulchers etc. There are some other EU brands out there that do offer small wheel loaders that offer Hi-flow options (such as Wacker Neuson) that can do well in those applications, but not much touches the build quality of the Kubota loaders (Yanmar and Furukawa do well there too)
new kubota r640 loader center joint squeaking bad after only 14 hours factory grease job missed it can i get grease every where by just pumping grease to it or should dealer pull it apart and clean it ?
all machines with cabs doesnt matter if its a tractor an excavator a combine a wheel loader a skid steer these days with how much glass they have the front windows should be polycarbonate as standard and the rest of the windows as poly carbonate as an option as a safety standpoint
I posted in another one of your videos a week or so ago asking about running a hydraulic brush hog with a 2023 R640 and you said you can't rev the hydraulics separately. It was the "Our favorite snow pushing machine" video. You said: "No. Can't rev the hydraulic separately. Even if you could, it's not enough flow to run a brush cutter properly". Watching this video It seems like you're saying that you can? Perhaps you thought I was talking about the R530 where you mention that you can't? I've got the R640. Why not some more videos on the New Holland line up? Seems like the channel is Kubota focused. Looking for a new compact tractor and have the big 3 around me.
We sell a lot of New Holland, their product line does not change as often as Kubota so I don't end up with as much to talk about. If you check our history, we've done videos on the NH compacts.
