Morning Biff! You did a great job on the push box. I am not getting your notifications anymore - not sure why but reset the button this morning. Hope you are keeping well. Congrats on the Outbuilding - it's coming along nicely. Cheers and stay warm!

Thanks GP! Been awhile since we talked, I hope your doing well! I saw your last few videos and man your videos are just fantastic to watch! It sucks to hear you havnt been getting my notifications, I think it may because my upload pattern was so screwed up for the last 5 months as I was busy building the pole barn and for awhile my video content sorta changed.. but now I’m back to the tractor work and repairs hopefully soon here I’ll have the garage finally finished too. I never knew there was a reset button for that? Where do you find it? PS. Email me some time at Mbifaro@gmail.com as I would love to talk more with you!

Thanks buddy! I’m glad the snow pusher pairs so nicely with the BX. It really does a great job and it’s extremely quick/easy to use too. As for the building I’ll be digging and running the gas line in my next video, and during the week each day after work Iv been hanging insulation whenever I can.. it’s slowly coming along and I hope to update you guys soon!

Nice job Mike the push box def works better for your driveway especially for that amount of snow , that bx is a beast I’m impressed with how much traction it has exept of course when you push those big piles at the end of the driveway
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment Год назад
Thanks mark! I’d have to agree.. the pushbox is so easy to use too and manipulate when steering by lifting slightly on it when you turn to allow for better traction and it’s fast. The BX sure is a powerful little tractor and having all that rear ballast def helps! When people say they can’t get their Bx to push snow like mine its either because they don’t have enough Ballast, they put too much weight down on their plow, or they don’t have Adequate tires for what they are plowing on.. once people get those 3 things figured out and have enough seat time the Bx is a snow removal monster. Thanks for watching!

It was still very enjoyable to plow tho and make the videos for you guys. Hopefully the next time we get snow it can be a bit more spread out. Thanks for watching and stay safe man!

I'm about to built a push box just like yours. (with the top edge(reverse) too though). You definately need to start the season by pushing the snow far on the grass to have enough space for the full snow season

Once again, excellent video. I wish I lived closer and I would let you try out the snowblower to see if would help in your lot. I'm worried that another big snow storm and you won't have anywhere to put the new snow. 😁

Nice job on that snow, as usual. I hope the lull in the snow has given you the chance to burry the gas, electric and internet cables, so you don't plow them up. That insulation will help a lot when the real cold hits.
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment Год назад
Thanks Ron! So I did manage to install my Reznor heater and in my next video I dig the gas line and fully finish connecting the gas from my garage to my main/meter line. I have been working slowly on insulating the barn by myself doing a little bit each day after work. It’s taken me awhile but I have about half the walls insulated now and just started on the ceiling last night.. it’s really starting to look nice in there. As for the extension cords I was able to move them more out of the way once all the snow melted so I don’t accidentally plow them up next time.. I’ll be starting my electric in the next week or two getting the power from the pole to the barn, then from the barn to the house.. all the cable is gonna be run overhead from peak to peak so I won’t have any issues there with the ground freezing and got my gas line installed just in time! Hope you are doing good yourself buddy, stay safe out there!

Hi Mike. That push box plow you built is great. Watching you use it knowing that you built it just adds to the enjoyment. With the heater you put in the cab makes it more enjoyable than ever. I did watch your build videos on the extra building, so I apologize, I can't remember if you put tubing in for floor heat. With the Reznor heater and the other one sitting in the back, I'm thinking you did not, I just can't remember. Nice work once again. Ed from Chicago 🙂
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment Год назад
Hey thanks Ed! I really appericate your comment! It does feel really good knowing I built this pushbox and that I fully designed it myself and can see how great it works in action each year. Thanks for your support and watching my build series videos! As for the garage floor I really wanted to add a heated floor using pex tubing and a hot water loop but I ran out of funds so I couldn’t make it happen :/ that being said tho the 80,000 BTU Reznor heater is doing a great job thus far and you guys will be able to see it all completed in my next video when I dig for the gas line! Stay safe!

Great job Mike! That pusher works pretty damn good brother! Gawd you surely got some snow over there. Yesterday down here in watkins glen, our yard was still nice an green. Got up this morning, snow covered, only an inch or so, then melted off later in the day. Our BX23s is all set to plow, and still waiting for the big one, lol. I switched back to a front bucket an rear blade for this season. I`ve tried all different kinds of things, the bucket an rear blade works best out of everything i`ve tried for my place. Only thing i haven`t tried is the BX snow blower on the front. I had one years ago on another tractor but our driveway is so rocky that i spent more time replacing shear pins than i did blowing snow. I don`t think its worth it for me to buy a blower for our BX after having one fail me so many times in the past. We`ll leave the blowers to the paved driveway princesses ,lol. Hope you don`t get much more snow, you`ll run outta room to put it all!!! Anyways, you stay warm over there neighbor! Be safe brother!
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment Год назад
Thanks man! Glad to hear you got your bx23s all configured for winter! I’m surprised you got missed with all the fun! Haha. Looks like we are getting a decent size storm starting on Saturday night into late next week so you may just get your wish! I agree with your plow setup I am sure it will work great. Everyone always thinks they know what’s best for people when it comes to snow removal but the fact is, everyone’s driveway is differnt, everyone’s driveway material is differnt, and everyone has a different drifeway shape and areas in which they can or can’t bank the snow.. for some people a bucket and back blade is all you need! Others won’t go with out their trusty pushbox, some people like their Angle plows and a lot of people like their snow blowers. I agree with the snow blowers.. they are best used on pavement.. we have one at work on a JD2038r and the thing is always breaking sheer bolts even WITH plowing on pavement.. it can get quite frustrating at times! Stay safe guys!

@danielmeyer403 Год назад
I would lose the rear ballast box and replace it with a box blade. You can use it for snow in a lot of ways, you can even hang your suitcase weights on it if you'd like. You can back right up to doors to pull snow away, clean up entrails, and use it as a rear facing dozer. A ballast box just hangs there. A box blade doesn't hang out much further than a ballast box either.

Great job Mike. Not sure where you would put another foot of snow. I like blowing mine so I don't have that problem. I did get a back blade for mine also with the front mount blower. With it in reverse it works great for dragging the snow away from buildings and does not dip into the gravel. If fact it helps pack and freeze the snow over the gravel.

Wow Mike I didn’t know you made that pusher, fantastic job and design! Man you heaved ho tons of snow fast, made the BX grunt black smoke. I always over baby mine with rare exceptions, have been accused of so lol, take care bud!
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment Год назад
Haha thanks Chris! I think I built the pushbox a few years ago so it makes sense that you may have missed that video series I did. It really does work great! And yah I def get those same accusations of “tractor abuse” at times but I tell them “hey.. it’s a tractor, it’s built to work!” Haha. It grunts at times and blows black smoke for a few reasons..first reason is that I often leave it in high gear when I plow as I find the faster speed and less torque helps not only to better increase traction, but it’s also faster when you plow.. high gear helps to keep the big piles moving too before you break traction but it looses RPMs easier which will make it lug..Second reason is that I modified my injection pump to allow for more fuel, I did an entire video on how to modify the injection pump.. I did this because at some point I plan to install a custom built turbo kit on it which is about halfway done and I just need to find time to finish it before making an install video.. so now when it lugs hard it will push a lot more black smoke out than an average BX until I get the turbo installed to clean it up. Thanks for watching and stay safe buddy!!

@KubotaBXathome Год назад
Yeah I totally get it, but the way you work it the carbon would be gone in a hurry without buildup. Low gear and no momentum, so you got it figured out. Have to share a story. My friend just retired from Cummins Power Gen told me they use the 2380 engine in gensets for fishing vessels that run 24/7. He told me I would never wear it out. It’s a perfect test bed for your new turbo. All that said I traded up at the dealer for the larger engine due to a vibration still in warranty which developed at 160 hrs. Tons of cleaner etc, new injectors at the original dealer and got back 2 months later didn’t help, not a broken motor mount or anything. I recently saw a vid where the throttle stick was shaking just like mine and sounded the same too, still a mystery. So if you hear any about the mystery vibration bug let me know. Just passing the 160 hour mark on my 2680 no issues. BTW I converted both to Amsoil, engine and hydro, been running the oil since the 70s too many stories to tell. The hydro whine really quieted down, it’s 100% synthetic unlike Kubotas para so I wasn’t surprised, first time using their hydro oil in the 2380, very impressed. Take care pal.

The push box came out great! Did you use that instead of the Artillian plow because the ground isn't frozen? I know it was tough with my plow because the ground isn't frozen yet and no base of snow/ice to be on top of.

When it's really cold out does it take a couple minutes for the BX to warm up before the hydrostat starts working properly? On my Yanmar when it's 25° out when I first start it the transmission is pretty unresponsive for a minute, I assume because the fluid is so cold.

If you don't mind me asking. What is the thickness of your side panels and backing plate on your snow pusher
@BiffsEquipment

3/16” thick, I made them the same thickness as the factory BX bucket.. knowing it would then be plenty strong enough and still be plenty light for the bx to handle to keep traction on the front wheels 👍🏻
