@@jmanatee The biggest question for me on this subject is what would serve me better, a scaper-grader or a box blade. I have never owned either so I am trying to decide which I should buy. I would mostly being doing driveway work spreading gravel.
I read all the comments on forums about which to get and most said "If you are going to get one implement get a box blade" and I would agree if you do not have a loader bucket. Here is my story I have a box blade, rear blade, 3 Point Rake, and now grading scraper. I have a long driveway almost a 1/3 of a mile... I originally bought and tried using the box blade. It did ok but it wants to move material so you always have to be adjusting the 3 point lever or you will end up with a full box and trying to feather it out. Like if your front wheel goes in a pot hole or rear wheel goes over a rock the box will dump is load, Then I got the rear blade (mostly for ditch work) and rake. The rake is great. Now having used the grading scraper and using it a second time with the scarifiers down and finishing with a light rake (mostly to get the big rocks to the side or to break up any of the wet clumps) I have never seen my driveway so smooth. If you have have a long driveway the grading scraper is super easy to use, adjust it to drag level put the 3 point lever all the way down and drive. If I was to do it all again, I would have bought the grading scraper and rake and that's it. I think I will be selling my box blade. not sure about the rear blade.
