@@mr.pasumarthi5542 There is no Kuchipudi called Kerala Kuchipudi...Only Kuchipudi of Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh...This is performed in Kerala dance festival...It belongs to Kuchipudi of Andhra Pradesh.
@@anirudhkarunakaran4856 traditional Kuchipudi doesn't look like this. This performance doesn't give the feel of authentic Kuchipudi. It just looks like Someone used Kuchipudi steps for their dance competition. I think @pasumarthy Kumar Datta words about Kerala Kuchipudi are correct.
Meera did a great job as usual. But honestly this dance doesnt look like kuchippudi or any classical art for that matter. Looks like a folk dance. But layman can just sit and enjoy for 10 mins
@@TNAOD Please check out original kuchipudi by Guru vempati chinna satyam and his disciples and see for yourself. No one is hating here. Just because this has a few kuchipudi steps doesn't make it kuchipudi. There is a way kuchipudi is supposed to be done. Just like how you can't do mohiniattam being all stiff, then that is not mohiniattam.
You are true , I felt this more as a cinematic dance . Can't blame the dancer coz that would be the way she was taught . The aim of this dance is not showcasing the real dance form but just score maximum point in the event. There are a lot of pieces available in you tube where the performance done in traditional way.
This is a wonderful dance performance and she is a well talented and respected dancer now. But I have some doubts about the style of dancing in this video : *1.First of all, it feels like robotic with it's recurrent swifts and turns and reflex movements as the dancer seems to be fixed to a pelvic fulcrum. I didn't see any fluidity which I heard unique for kuchipudi. Is this a particular style of kuchipudi? * 2. The emerging talent of a wonderful dancer is particularly portrayed in this young dancer's eyes, smile and facial expressions. But, this dance composition doesn't feel like true to the " bhakthi and complaining" mood of bhaktha in The Thyagaraja kriti. It's more filled with "Sringara rasa". Is this obvious? Please someone clear my doubts... **I'm just putting forward my concerns as a true rasika and as a dancing student
Actually its because the "competition oriented" culture in kerala. As a dancer the feel and flow is more important than geometry and quick moves. Its obvious that geometry and quick moves can give us the 'talented dancer' vibes but always the feeling will be missed. Unfortunately our youth festivals gave more importance to fast and geometrical jatis and sringara based smiles. All other bhava is felt as less important. And we have to express anger or sorrow, we have to express it in extremes like protrude eye balls and shiver uncontrollably or cry opening whole mouth in a dramatic way. It kills all art. But I'm glad that Meera ma'am is a great dancer now who dance with involvement of soul.
To do complete justice to any dance number, one should understand the lyrics also. Since it is a telugu number, she probably doesn't understand and the dance teacher has to explain. May be there she lacks finish. Even then it is terrific.
Oh man! She nailed it. Just gonna check the results of this youth festival and if she didn't win then I will riot. Edit: Thank God atleast she won 2nd in this.
This is not eligible to be called as kuchipudi dance...do call it as kerala kuchipudi or name as your wish.... don't destroy the art...first of all try knowing the meaning of the song.. don't try to do some shit and name it as KUCHIPUDI... And mainly.. try to change the way of expression you are doing... the jerks you do are totally making the dance fully into a mixed form of KUCHIPUDI.. BHARATANATYAM... Folk..hip hop and finally made it a bull shit... This is not your mistake all these words are to your guru or whom ever the choreographer might be... While keeping such things on social media think once how it effects the originality of the art and the upcoming artists🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Pathetic dance performance. 1. Why is she giving expressions more than required? 2. If you don’t get correct expression in face please don’t cover it by over smiling. 3. This is not the original choreography what vempati master did. This musician add his own pieces which didn’t go well at all. 4. Where is the subtlety and grace here? 5. At least if you or your guru don’t know properly then watch videos of Manju Bhargavi or shoba Naidu. Then you guys will know correct form. 6. And please practice your adavus properly. All the traditional repertoire is gone these days. What is left is not kuchipudi. Nowadays lot of dancers have no idea what Abhinaya is. If they don’t know exact expression they simply smile.
I'm not here to argue with you or anything 🏳️ This is a public media and ur comment can be read by the whole world if possible. Just don't post such comments under such videos pls... 🙏 *Art is ment to be enjoyed not judged...* These kinds of competitions are condected by kerala Govt. And the reason why there is a lot of conflicts is simply because of the people these days who are too self centred...
Continue ur scrolling I agree art is meant to be enjoyed. But that doesn’t mean that if I see a wrong form or aesthetics are missing that I can’t constructively criticize. If anyone uploads a video here it is meant for public to watch and share their opinion. There is no rule that only positive comments must be shared. Analyze my first comment: Sathvic abhinaya is missing is that a bad comment. A dancer must be able to do proper abhinaya. Over smiling: is that necessary? I just told to do properly. No one should criticize means that’s no the way it is. I didn’t post anything derogatory.
