Kuhl Klash Pants Review - Sean Sewell of Engearment
It is no secret that I love Kuhl pants and shorts. The Klash are some of the best, if not the best, softshell pants I have tested. They fit great, look good, have pockets that function well, and stretch perfectly.
Truly, these are some awesome pants for outdoor activities. They feature zippered pockets, reinforced cuffs, a nice, stashable hook to keep the pants attached to your boots.

I’ve had these pants for like four years. They are awesome. Super comfortable. I’ve worn them snow shoeing, serious winter hiking/backpacking and all kinds of other outdoor activities.

I’ve been wearing their Freeflex pant rather frequently the past few months and I like them the more I wear them

Sweet! Stoked you are digging the Kuhl Freeflex pants. I live in the Rnegade, then the Navigtr, now these. They sent over a pair of Destroyr to test out next. I should have than up in a few weeks. Take care!

Excellent and Brilliant video. Thank so much! I am looking for a pant like this, to wear on my Alaska Inside Passage trip on small ship (60 people) on a 8 day trip this June 2022. I will be doing a lot of hiking and also Canoe. So, leaning on the Klash pant and Renegage and Klassik finish.

What’s your approach on washing and drying these pants? Do you put any tech soap in the washing machine or just wash with normal detergent?

Great question. I prefer tech wash for these. But I have absolutely used “normal” detergent. Our normal detergent is an enzymatic cleaner called sports suds. Works great on fitness clothes that get sweaty. Hope that helps!

How would you consider these for indoors? Would they be too warm indoors? If I need to find pants for both indoor and outdoor in winter, would you recommend this or Destroyr? Thank you very much.

I use these all the time for indoors actually. I really love these pants. I would go with these over the Destroyr as well. Both are good, but these are better. They breath better than they may appear. They are very versatile. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Was wondering if these would work for skiing? Specifically if he leg opening would fit over a ski boot?

That is a great question. They did not fit over my snowboard boot, but I have not tried a ski boot. I can give that a go later today and let you know. My feeling is that it would not fit, or it would be tight. But I will confirm!

Sorry for the delay! I just tried them out over my size 29.5 Atomic (Phantom slippers) and they…. Fit! Blew my mind. I opened the zipper opening all the way and it worked fine. Hope that helps!
