@HaedongKumdoIsaLie In America it has become somewhat of a sport. I was 7 when I started attending classes in Austin, TX. I can't say it's the most authentic martial art in the world but Kuk Sool stands apart when it comes to teaching core values and sefl defense techniques. Its easy to make the first strike, but it takes true skill to know when to stop fighting.
the aim of using folding fan in taichi is to keep body balance.try to take a pencil by either,and get your hand up with balancing on one foot!its very difficult since the equation of human body would be broken down even a little of heft.the same problems are raising up in korean martial arts,for example the demonstration of taekondo is very fun since their dynamic jumping kick etc.. but the floor has not enough soothing mats,then sometimes they tear their Achilles tendon....

since there are big distinguish thought against climate,geography,race and so on,although the base should be same.for example,in Tibetan Buddhism, for general is Gelug-pa style as Dalai Lama 14th geika(猊下) but is separated 4 style.all of them are influenced in Tantric Buddhism,(密教)vajrayana (金剛乗).
have you ever been hit by one of those? My instructor has a pair, and i've been his target dummy multiple times. needless to say, the feathers aren't all that are there. at 1:05, he stabbed the other guy right in the clavicle pressure point with the end of those fans. if you don't know how much that hurts, take a pen and jab it into the muscle area right behind your clavicle. A martial artist who can strike a pressure point with one of those could easily take out the common street thug.
@HaedongKumdoIsaLie I simply said that "traditional" is a subjective term. Practically all martial arts as we know them today are relatively recent, but at the same time they can all trace their content back to older sources. But since there really is no systemacit record keeping for old sources, all these traces tend to get quite fuzzy. I really dont see what the big issue is. Check it out and judge it on its on merits, I say.

@esabil1996kosman i have never heard about korean martial art in royal court,i think its existed not so much in really history,nothing but in TV drama only.i asked history forms,and man who know well detailed explained with quoting from "BUGEI-ZUFU-TSUUSHI" (武芸図譜通志,1790) which is book of korean martial art.the original is some copied, there are in Korea University 高麗大學校,and one is owned by Kim Jong-il金正日 at Pyongyang 平壌 in north korea.korean military was used well as archery not swords.
