Gene would live for another 50 years after this episode aired. He would pass on November 29, 1999. I wish I could have met the man. He was a true entertainer.

Gene Rayburn is so young here. He was a good guest and worked well with Kukla and Ollie.

Wish I could have met the art director on “KUKLA”, the late BOB COSTELLO who later produced DARK SHADOWS. Bob also taught at NYU and passed on at age 93! If anyone knew him, please let me know.

Burr and Gene must've hit it off big during the summer break. The Kuklapolitans probably sang Gene's Hop Scotch Polka about a half dozen times during the 1949-50 season.
