@@danielcirino4533 Yes, I know I'm getting old when I pity my kids for the music they're growing up listening to. However, somewhat pathetically, I feel so pleased when they hear 'old' music and love it🧓
For me, THE best version of this track. Stylish, energetic, great vocals, everything on point. Kula Shaker is so under rated. During this 'current' lock down, in off outside to paint my fence with Kula Shaker blasting in my ears. Much ❤️ to you all. X
Now, I love Kula Shaker! But I gotta say, I'm still partial to the original. Don't get me wrong, KS did an amazing cover, I really love it! But the POWER of the original vocals, and the musicianship can't be overlooked! Anyway... Yada yada... "J. C. vs The B's 'She C i T t B W?' I like the cover better!!" And think of all the "traditional" songs which have led to hits for more than one individual/group/band! I'm rambling. I guess my point is: you can like/prefer any version of a song, but please don't dismiss the original!
@@johnnystorm74 I made a mistake in calling it the "original." I do not prefer Billy Royal's version, but rather I prefer Deep Purple's version. To me, it's the original, as this should have been a rock & roll song from the start, not country playing at rock.
I agree but there's an answer: the nineties music was made to last long . Very best of the best: if you pay attention this music and songs were timeless and it's very fine musicians. The quality never pass over the ages.
oh man this was my BAND- i went to see them in Toronto tickets were sold out- went to where they were getting interviewed sobbing (hey i was young)- crispian saw me crying and asked the radio station to get me in to the show! how sweet! BEST SHOW EVER
it is very rare to hear someone cover an original so well- and in their own style - DP are amazing and KS are on a par. long live KS and thanks to DP for their music

The lead singer Crispian Mills has a famous mum,and she goes by the name of Hayley Mills,a child actor from the 50's and 60's. His grandad his Sir John Mills.
Yeah! I'm Lovin' The Early Deep Purple... Hush too. Hell, I even love Joe South's version of Hush, with his really gravelly-assed voice. I'm old... a Flower-Child, gone to seed... But, I Love 1990's Psychedelic Rock too.
I met Crispian Mills back stage at a Deep Purple concert at Wembley Arena some years ago. For what it's worth having seen both Deep Purple and Kula Shaker live many times, I think they are both excellent bands with excellent musicianship. Kula Shaker restored the energy in my love of music when "K" was released.
Great song. I had the fortune of seeing them twice in 2016 (Holmfirth and Liverpool)....both FANTASTIC gigs, and I'm still living in hope they'll be gigging again soon ! ? ! ?
He's a thoroughly nice bloke too. His band Magic Bus came to the recording studio were I worked a few years back, I didn't engineer the sessions but I did chat to him about synths and stuff 😁
ahh! I couldn't believe this when I saw it come up! Ahh! Thank you so much! I love Kula Shaker, but have never been able to find any of their videos, apart from Tattva! Thanks again =D
Pretty sure this is the version they used during the basketball scene in Coffee Prince. Great energy, stays true to the soul of Deep Purple's original, while amping it up for a new generation.
This is a great one to crank up early on a Tuesday morning, before the start of a hard days work and boogie too naked out of the shower in your socks!!
This song was also in the movie.. " I Know What You Did Last Summer " - 1997 It's in the beginning scene after Helen's " Crooker Queen Pagent " ... when they're outside at the 4th of July Beach Party
I had to wait till my mom was away to see Both " Scream & I know What you did last summer " .. I was a bit too young to see them then Was a bit scared of my closet after .. because of the scene where the Hook Guy is hiding in Helen's closet B4 he chops her Long hair off
this version is amazing, this version is just as great as deep purple did this track but in half the time! it's got legend written all over it this song, both versions have, in my honest opinion!
his mum was haley mills.you might know that already i dont know.she was an actress in the 60s.google her she made some great films.beautiful.more of a child star.i can see where he got his inspiration from.there was something on the tv a while ago about rock and pop stars saying i got my inspiration from, from listening to my mum and dads music in the car.or i remember my mum and dad playing this on vinyle when i was a kid.mike
adoro esse som, eles são uma banda indefinível aos meus padrões musicais ,diria que um dos expoentes do indie ,de repente estou falando merda e não sei mas encontro semelhanças ao FLAMING LEEPS e o INSPIRAL CARPETS
