I don't think they were underrated tho. They sold well at the time. Maybe a bit too spiritual at the time to be world beaters? I still love them anyway.
Love this band. Saw them support Oasis at Knebworth in ‘96. Remember K being top of the album charts as well. So spoilt for top bands back then. Oasis, Blur, The Verve, Kulashaker, Cast, Charlatans, Ocean Colour Scene, Reef. 👍🏻
Paul Quinn Mate, that must of been great. Didn’t Oasis have loads of great support acts at Knebworth? Unfortunately, I’ve never seen Kula Shaker live. But I did bump into Crispin Mills in London about 20 years ago and he gave me directions to Denmark Street!
I'm 60 and I think these are one of the best bands of the 90s. As my musical tastes were mainly formed in the 70s (with a nod to the 60s) I feel more of an affinity with the 90s than the shite served up in the 80s.
I saw them in 1996 and again in 1999 at the 930 club in washington dc -- they were beyond fantastic. Alas they fell prey to the inevitable brit press backlash --
I've seen them a few times over the years, their early shows when K and PP&A were young were great. I've lost touch with them a bit these days but I heard their recent albums have been back on form. Although it's probably only Crispian from the original line up.
@@user-hl8hl3qe1z Not so popular in India, despite their songs revolve around the spiritual realm of this country. My all time favorite band. Have listened to all of their tracks and still listening everyday! Cheers.
I saw them in the south off england on the eclipse off the moon and they was playing i cant remenber the year , they was great , the birds stopped tweating and went quite, band switched off when this was going on it did get dark to, WILD , it would off been the 90s a great memory
bit late commenting i know,..but fuck,..what an awesome live performance,...one of the few bands that CAN actually play live and sound better than in a studio,...awesome post...
@@zlrs0113 Oasis sound really old fashioned to me these days, and I never got into The Verve. But KS always sound interesting. Must be the psychedelic vibe.
