Kumarakom is famous for its backwaters. It is share the same lake with Alleppy. There are multiple ways by which its back waters can be explored. House boats, Speed boats, Shikara ride, Boat Buses etc .. These are readily available.
We stayed in KTDC Water Scapes. It's maintained. by KTDC. Its a beautiful resort at the bank of the Lake Vembanad. The food is amazing and the stay was fabulous. There is a bird sanctuary just at the entrance of this resort.
This is no wonder called God's own country. Water canal transport system is somewhat like Venice, Italy but very close to nature..

India has almost everything from Nature. On the northern side we have the Great Himalayas.
It gives beautiful Alpine Meadows and Alpine forest like in Kashmir Valley in Srinagar and Pahalgam and some in Himachal Pradesh like Solang , Kullu, Manali etc and others in Uttarakhand. It also nurture alpine lakes like Tulian lake, Wullar lake, Pangong Lake. Himalaya offers pure barren and rocky landscape as well in Ladakh and Spiti Valley.
In the West we have the great That desert in Rajesthan which offers the desert experience. And not to mention the great Forts of Rajesthan as well. Further on west we have the Rann of Kutch which is a white salt desert. During winter it is an open white land and one can just stay amazed with the Moon shine lights it up.
In the south we have beaches starting from Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andra Pradesh and Oddisa. Southern Platue also have beautiful western and eastern ghat mountain ranges which has beautiful medows and grass carpet over the hills. Some off the great water falls are in the western ghat like Jog Falls, Athirapally falls etc ..
Eastern India ( Specifically Northeast we call) host the pristine beauty of Bramhaputra river basin and part of Himalaya mountain ranges. The wettest place on earth ( Mawsymram ) is in Meghalaya near to Shillong. Even the cleanest village of ASIA is in this state. And many more ..
