It's a pretty popular theory that it's not Kai who turned greedy, but instead it was Oogway that turned selfless. Kai called himself a warlord when he introduced himself. Him and Oogway probably both were. But it was the Pandas' generous gesture that had an impact on Oogway and see him in a different light.

Kai’s theme goes way harder than it needed to.

For me it's Oogway that makes this movie so good. He had such little roles in the trilogy but whenever he had screentime it was absolutely perfection. Him finally going full circle with the dragon warrior selection killed me.

Kong Fu Panda but ESPECIALLY this 3rd one has such creative bits of humor. The "i'm looking for my son" sequence is hilarious

To be fair on Panda dad, he had lost Po once. I’d understand if he didn’t want to do that again.

You gotta feel for Kai though. By his facial expressions when planning to take chi, you can see fear and desperation in his eyes, which shows that he was scared that Oogway almost died and this was a way to protect him and prevent it from ever happening again. Like Mr Ping said, we do the wrong things for the right reasons.

You will appreciate Goose Dad a lot here, he is much wiser when he both comforts Po and his Panda Dad

the theory on why kai became so obsessed with taking chi was becauseoogway (his bestfriend)almost died and he wanted the power to protect his family. so thats why he feels betraged by oogway. he wanted to have the power to lkeep his friend from dying. and that samefriend send him to the spirit world because of that

As soon as I seen the notification for Alyce's reaction to the first Kung Fu Panda I knew that she was going to love this franchise!

The irony and poetic justice of Oogway learning generousity and selflessness through the Pandas which put him on the path of enlightenment, masterhood, and kung fu, while Po the Panda essentially lost his lineage and family with the emergence of kung fu yet it was Oogway who put him back onto the path so Po could revive it all.

Po has a tai lung figure, if you pause while analyzing the chi pendants kai has you can see what looks like a snow leopard. Meaning he fought and beat tai lung

Kung fu panda 4 is gonna released it in march 8 2024,im excited for it

in po's dad's, Li's defense, he lost his wife and thought he lost his son to lord shen, only to find him decades later, dragon warrior or not, a good father will do what he thinks is best to keep him safe and let's not forget, he legit saw him almost die multiple times during that first fight with the wolves. even if he wasn't in any real danger. to Li ,he definitely was. so don't bash him to much for lying.

How to Train Your Dragon is a brilliant trilogy as well, we highly recommend it

I've never watched KFP3 and had a dream that I watched it for the 1st time with an anime RU-vidr. Strange.

These films are perfect example of why it's better to have the hero character start off with doubts and have them overcome adversity as they learn how to become a hero, instead of just being great at everything from the beginning. Films that have a hero that never loses or has to face any real setbacks, tend to not hold up on repeated viewings or stand up to the test of time. I'm looking at you Disney Star Wars sequel trilogy!!! Lol

I love these movies. The first one is my favorite. But they're all great! I watch them whenever they're on tv. They're totally worth watching over and over and over again.

I think this one is a tad weaker since it relies A LOT more on the sillier side of humor, but it's still solid

23:48 Before stating accusing towards the father, you should really consider what he felt. 20 years he lost his son. Potentially thought he's dead until he heard rumors of a panda saving the valley. What the father did may not be the best, but it should be extremely understandable. He's not selfish, he's just found his son, and he's afraid of losing him for good.

I really wish we could’ve seen Mr. Ping teach Li how to cook some dishes. Just think it would’ve been funny to see someone else teach Walter White how to cook.

I were just trying to protect Oogway, but i never realised how terrible the thing i did were.

This one is my least favorite out of the three. But it’s because the other two are masterpieces and this one is just great. Shen and Tai Lung are better written and more intimidating villains in my opinion, but Kai is still really good. Even if I mostly like Kai because his weapon is so damn cool. The bull is Kratos

I hope Dreamworks learned their lesson and release a good trailer for the 4th movie, because the trailers for these films don't do them justice. Many people thought they were gonna suck. And even after being proven wrong, the trailer for the next one made people think "Alright, this is the one that's gonna flop".

I recently rewatched this trilogy after seeing your first reaction, and they were even better now than they were back when I first watched them! I would say the first film is the funniest, and the second film doesn't flow quite as good as the rest, so my final ranking is 1, 3, 2!

Personally, calling Po's biological father "selfish" for wanting to protect his only child he lost for 20 years from a genocidal maniac is a bit much in my opinion 😂 But I can agree that he should've been more upfront about his intentions and concerns with Po instead of getting his hopes up

I think they’re taking oogway lines and revamping them into the new movies, ‘you are the dragon warrior’, -learning to be yourself the message that you are what’s special and makes you you. ‘yesterday is history tomorrow is a mystery but today is the present that’s why it’s called a gift’ movie 2, recognizing that the relationships you build and maintain are the gifts in the present moment and affect the future you build and ‘it matters not how someone is born but how they grow to be.’ -referring to a peach seed, (which the old panda village grows in the scrolls at the end it’s the fields of China that bloom not just a single peach tree) Movie 3, it doesn’t matter if you’re a panda a goose or the maker of widows it’s how you grow and how you can help things around you grow. or you can remain stagnant stuck in the past and making life-energy chi into figurines and obsessing over old ways/titles/old victory’s and can’t progress (stripey baby and tigress maintaining her real body with adoration and happiness through caring for others consistently in all the movies she was the only 1/5 to use chi and learned through a willingness to learn and grow form others as she always worries about them and cares for them being the leader and responsibility’s along with fears and worries over how as a group they will succeed. Those fears are nullified when trusting those around you and opening yourself to care/heal/grow things in the present moment and future relationships (how the little panda kid will look up to tigress and spread her name/history as she lives the same way the random rabbit and duck talked about oogway in the fields while blanking on who the water Buffalo was even after he said his name was Kai)
