One thing I disliked about this movie is in 2. They showed the flashbacks of the dad being this strong warrior type fighting off Shen & in this they completely dumbed him down.

I 💯% agree with this. That was my only gripe about this one. Different voice actor as well even though I didn't mind Bryan Cranston but to make his father exactly as silly and goofy and to have all the panda's just different sides of Po was a slight let down but still enjoyed the film overall.

You can thank parents complaining about the dark, grittiness of 2 foe that. Parents were concerned over the tone and panda genoicde in the 2nd film that DreamWorks went the safer route and toned down 3 to a more family friendly vibe, resulting in Po's dad being dumbed down.

They changed a lot about the first ideas of this movies. If you remember well in the last movie on the flashback Po’s dad was more of a warrior than a silly panda. And all too make it more “childish”

Yeah such a great movie and as you guys say, a very strong entry into the franchise. I love that they had Bryan Cranston and J.K. Simmons in this movie. Good fun. :) This villain was so so powerful....I remember watching it wondering how they were even gonna get out of this, because he even defeated both Ugway and Shifu and that's a big deal. But awesome movie.... loved the story and that they brought the Panda family/village in. That was great. :) In my opinion, the fourth one was lacking in a lot of the same humor that these three had. The story and characters are solid as hell, but the humor wasn't there for me and I absolutely love the humor. This made it the weakest in the franchise for me (even though it was still a good movie on its own merit). The Kung Fu Panda franchise is just so awesome in general. I love all of these movies. :)

Kung Fu Panda is one of my favorite licenses in cinema, it's sad to see Disney struggling to incorporate progressive, Inclusive and positive messages with hammer blows in their recent production. Even though it was already more than 10 years ago, Dreamworks spanked it with such ease and intelligence.

Not the best entry in the franchise, but a fun movie none the last! Kai's music is awesome, but he never felt like the challenge for the spirit part of Po's journey to mastery. And c'mon, the last battle was so underwhelming, it's literally the last battle of a franchise known gor it's fight scenes, they should've put everything into it!
