Nenhum movimento das formas deixa de ter uma aplicação marcial, as vezes várias, veladas nos movimentos e que apresentam sugestões estratégicas. Sem esta "peça", o "quebra-cabeças" não se completa, nem nos estilos internos, nem nos externos. Este caráter holístico do Tai Chi Chuan é maravilhoso!
