Update: The golden aura is actually jianxin buff. her buff is both golden and blue/turq colors. So There isn't even a buff indicator for the heavy attack % bonus when calcharo intro's into the field.

There is an update to this: Kuro have issued a form for JP players to fill out that pulled for the weapon and are treating it as an individual case. Meaning each person will be compensated appropriately (as far as we know).
It is a good move tbh, since it probably addresses the Calcharo issue. I'm assuming whales care a bit less cause it that money level you're getting Jiyan anyway most likely. I wonder what's the compensation plan in the case of true overspent leviathans that get 2 weapons and max dupes for them.
It's not just a translation error, they even used complicated kanji words and letters which is barely understandable even for japanese such as myself. We already know they used Ai translator instead of a human translator and/or probably the person who actually translate this description was informed incorrectly . Some of the people I know that plays Wuwa pulled for like 10X copy of the weapon because they thought the weapon could be universal and usable not for Jiyan only but for future broadblade user characters as well in the future PS. Instead of refunding the money, they say through the form that they will gives us back the number of pulls we have used on Jiyan's weapon banner. The good thing is they will also gives us the data of how many pulls we've done and they also gives us an option of how many pulls should we refund. Because for example, we pulled for 10x copy of Jiyan's weapon, if we want to keep the S5 weapon, we can and the amount of pulls they will refund starts at the first 10 pulls for the 6th copy of the weapon

They announced that they will refund every case when the player summoned for this weapon before May 29th - but this is only for JP people, because this bug affected only them, ENG version was translated correctly from the beginning :)

At where I work if the prices are listed wrong a customer is given the item at the shown price but they change it immediately after Best case in this situation is just make the weapon work as a one off effect But get better translators going forward
They're refunding anyone on JP who purchased the weapon; they posted a form on twitter for JP users to fill out with UID, screenshots of their pull history page, and stuff so they can refund them.

except its no big deal, the weapon is designed for Jiyan which is caleld "the intended purpose" if its not used as intented purpose it means they arent liable for any damages that happen next! for real tho I have no idea why would they use it on other characters except a stat stick, so situation awareness is also important in these scenarios otherwise the passive on the weapon works in 50% of what it describes and also the fact that people dont pull designed weapons for certain character for other characters 95% of the time especially 1 week into the game so these people just wanna be mad for no biggie reasons these days or have the agenda of ruining this game already
imo in THIS SPECIFIC CASE its "no big deal" because if someone pulled this weapon for calcharo then it still works, you just lose a little bit of uptime and thats about it which doesnt matter much because you wont be onfield 100% of the time anyways and if you maxed this weapon then you probably wouldnt even notice that something doesnt work because everything would be dead, it's as if you ordered a burger, ate it, it was delicious, and then you realised you got the wrong burger and got PISSED and asked for a refund even tho you enjoyed it, like sure you can do it and it shouldn't have happened but imo it gives "can i talk to your manager" vibes

i first noticed the localization is bad when they had "invite to co-op" instead of "request co-op" on the friend list, since whoever pressed the button joins the friend's world even though they were the one inviting friend to their world. It's just a small thing to nitpick abt but still confusing when you first encounter it lol.
I saw text got cut off. I saw wrong meaning from a sentence because it was wording incorrectly. And this is English version I am playing. So I could imagine it would be worse for other non-English players.
it will hurt game power balance and will led to powercreep. roll back is the best possible way, "too expensive" is not the excuse if they wanna keep the game alive longer and wont discourage people to continue playing the game
What is really weird I think is that there is no buff indicator for your characters from weapons they need to do what they did in the roguelike and add those buff indicators so you know what you are getting buffed and when its buffed.

I have met quite a bit of typos in writing. Some dialogues had scine isntead of since and minor stuff like that. But messing up description is really bad. Even, if they get away with it, the hit on reputation is really severe. The frenzied genshin fanbase is just looking for things like that to use as leverage to keep flaming the game, so Kuro games have to impecable, if they want to be competition on mass scale... Perhaps, one idea would be to attach strings holding the key to appropriate button in brackets, inside descriptions. For example Resonator liberation [Q] or Resonator skill [E]. This way if something mismatches at least ppl will be on guard and check to confirm it, for future errors. But I guess it is easy to be my ass sitting on the chair giving brains to ppl haha
Hey Gacha Smack just to let you know the gold aura is normal for jianxins outro skill and has nothing to do with the weapon effect. I dont have the weapon but the gold aura still appears when I use my Jianxin outro skill. I dont have jiyans weapon so I can't test it but a more reliable way to check it would be to look at the character stats screen mid combat as it shows the heavy attack bonus and I'm sure it should appear there if it does actually work. Please check this as I wouldnt want you to accidentally spread misinformation especially as alot of people in the comments are taking what you say in this video at face value.
btw if you want to know how many bugs there are in wuwa, just look at how many free Astrites they send in the mail. genshin could never, i hate genshin impact.
As a Limbus Company player, mistranslation in mechanics happens a lot and I don’t really find them to be a big deal. But I can see why it became a big problem in wuwa since these kind of game can really be way way more expensive. Though I think what Kuros are doing to fix it is really fair, I’m worry about their health conditions. They’ve been going all night long fixing bugs and now they’re refunding each person individually. That sounds like a lot of work they put into earning their players trust, which is great.

Because these same players would have still pulled for the weapon if it was described correctly as it is BIS for Jiyan. I agree it is an error that should not have happened. The developer needs to have better oversight of localization and up their game. It would help if they made skill progression and skill descriptions less convoluted.
The description being wrong is a pretty serious mistake and they should compensate Japanese player properly. That said can't gachas still nerf/buff things after they've released regardless of people spending money?
They can for sure Epic Seven for example regularly buffs/nerfs units but they compensate players by letting them recall nerfed units and exchange them for any other unit of the same grade.
if the game published in CN, they can't. because CN has rule where "you buy what you told", nerfing means you lower the value of what you buy, in other words scam (this is the reason why genshin has problem with old overtuned characters). but they can buff, the bad thing would be the future unit/item would be having some powercreep problem. tof CN can't nerf weapons but glb version they adjusted them all
gacha normally never nerfs because of money problems, but buff? yeah they can, in this case it would be complicated because so many characters would become a god with this weapon buffed, it might affect the dmg balance of the game
they can but it doesnt go over well with the community ... and when your entire game is based on scamming your community then you really dont want to piss them off
I play Wuwa, UL35 DB18. I had some issue and correct me if I'm wrong as I'm also still learning about the game. I found it hard now to completely fully build characters even a single one. Yes, it's true they've been very generous with reward and compensation but it's still hard with that. Unlike other games where you can optimize using 4 stars weapon/light cone (whatever you called it). In this game I keep getting the broadblade copy with freaking DEF% on it. It seems like I'm forced to pull the weapons from the banner (for Crit or ATK% main stat) either the standart one or limited one. Even if this game gives you a guarantee pity (generous like everyone hyping about), but the gap between having the banner weapon and not is kinda overwhelming. In the end of the day, it's always the same for every gacha games, no matter we think of having a "generous" mechanism, you're still forced to rely on stuff from banners. Even when I got many 5 stars early: Encore from Beginner Banner, Jiyan from Limited Banner, Calcharo from Selector Banner, Verina from Selector Gift, and Rover as MC; I have no way to Lv.60 them all with Lv. 60 appropriate weapon and max out traces and echos (with the right main stats). It's a hard grinding game. *I'm not complaining if it's one, I'm enjoy the game though* . I'm complaining about all the players and content creator that gives me false hope and wrong marketing. :")
Before I watch the vid I’ll comment on here the same comment I typed on another vid. Anyone that says refunds are too drastic or not/shouldn’t happen are talking out of their ass, refunds happen all the time in multiple gacha games. In epicseven a form of refund is offered whenever they nerf a unit where you get all the mats used on the unit refunded and you get a character selector capable of picking from a massive pool of units, other games offer full true refunds were they give you all the gems you spent on something back, in a game I used to play back in the day called “seven deadly sins grand cross” there was a controversy with a character called shin there was a very minor mistranslation in his kit that barely even changed how he played, the mistranslation was so minor that not many players even complained about it and yet the devs returned every single gem spent on the banner before they fixed it and they didn’t even take the unit back from the people who got refunds, whales got the thousands of gems they spent on him and I got back like 500 gems and kept the character. So refunds can, should, and will happen in the gacha space, tracking the summon history is not that hard. For fuck sake we can check our summon history in the damn game.
The official JP twitter account has posted an announcement saying that they will address compensation individually on an account by account basis. Players can now fill and submit a form online to register for compensation, with a deadline of August 30th (3 months).
This is really part of a bigger issue. As fun as Wuwa is, all the text-related stuff are pretty bad. This localization stuff is something they really need to get on to fix the overall quality of, ASAP. Any more slip-ups like these can cost a lot of money for the company.
There’s still quite a lot of localisation and spelling issues in quests, weapons and overworld item descriptions but knowing kuro they’ll hopefully get it fixed soon
the best solution is that they can give them a ticket to select a 5 star weapon from upcoming weapon banners. and refond the upgrade materials as a base for compensations (they can give other things as an apology), best move imo buffing the weapon will ruin the game.
I would love to play the game. however the lag is a huge problem for me. I can play on my phone but I want to play on my laptop, it sucks. Hope they fix that soon
This is why I say people don’t read in detail before they pull. The regular 5-star broadsword is Calcharo's best weapon. Because calcharo scales off of libration damage, not heavy damage.
@@Jaguarfan928 Prydwen isn't always correct, go find me someone where can see real world examples. I haven't searched anyone testing both the weapons. Prydwen literally had Jinyan's weapon better yesterday which shows they didn't test properly yet you are bringing these guys up they are infallible.
@@rolf1819 I don’t know have you seen the recent CN Calcharo vids or tier list they place the standard banner weapon higher than Jiyan’s which kinda means Prydwen was right in this descision. Their calcs were correct too they just didn’t know Calcharo could not proc the alt condition for the buff so was the entire fanbase until it was corrected less than 24hrs since the change. The weapon should work with Calcharo as his bis but it is currently buggy with him once this issue is fixed Jiyan’s sig will be BIS on Calcharo but as of now the standard banner weapon is better until further notice.
I will be honest I think this will not be buffed. It will be too broken of a weapon if they buffed it. And would be technically "UNIVERSAL" weapon.. I might as well pull x3 copies of it. just for every Broadblade users lmao. I think they will just refund them, that or ignore them Cuz they literally have been handing out too much. which I don't care if they give more. But I think this will impact their revenue even further. The trick is to just REFUND those who wanted a refund. Like it's so simple since NOT EVERYONE would BOTHER refunding sh1t. Let's be honest. No one has the time to refund crap specially when you just rerolled it. and if you didn't that just means you pulled for Jiyan so that's still his BiS, and even that, Only like less than a thousand I bet would be affected.
They did say it was only a description error. How many errors have hoyo done. It still functions the same and we have to remember we don’t own anything and the thing is will they want a refund to lose the weapon bc im thinking not lol

I was going to say the best way, if possible, would be a poll to players that pulled for the wep and determine if they wanted a refund. I see a comment saying this is actually what they did which is great, but also going to be rough. I am curious how that would work, are they going to remove the weapon from the acc, and if so how would they do that with the 3* and maybe 4* that was used for leveling/refinements (or they only care about 5* or do not care at all and everyone will just say refund for free pulls lol)
There is another way to make it simple and not break another code on calcharo....make everything same on the weapon and just add basic atk bonus as well so it can give calcharo the benefits as well
Honestly this isn't the complete fault of the localization team. I remember haveing to explain the terminology to friends who play this game as new players as they make it pretty confusing. As most new players aren't going to know the difference between intro/outro/liberation etc, when they could have just have used more simple terminology for the game such as on swap in or ultimate skill for simpilictys sake. I can only imagine how much a nightmare that is to translate in multiple languages due to translations rarely go one to one nicely and it is up to the interputer to guess how its suppose to work as they probably don't even play the game.
I swear the rng on the limited weapon banner is rigged, I got the weapon on my 8th pull, my friend got the weapon on his first pull and you got it on your first pull

No you cant buff Calcharo because now everyone else will say thats not fair, that kind of buff would have swayed their decision for their selector pulls
A content creator said that they could have used chatgpt before releasing the game cuz its fater and cheeper and when the game comes out with localization problems they would hire a team to do it

One thing to remember is that these weapons are specifically tailored for the character in question, just like in Punishing: Gray Raven. They will have some function that is only meant to work off that character (Jiyan's sword shouldn't have all the benefits work the same/better for every broad blade user). In this case, it seems they just fudged the way in which to describe that unique functionality.
They even don’t have Russian. I am not Russian but there are around 15 countries which speak Russian and it’s hard for us to understand the plot in English. Hoyo at least have Russian
The way Wuthering Waves is actually responding and helping players to make the game better, i hope you guys at least spend money on the 5$ Lunite 30 day subscription or battle pass if you have money laying around and you actually like the game.
The uproar from JP is in regard to Jiyan and his wepon, becouse a lot of people thought it worked not how it was supposed to work as per the wrong translation and rolled for max copies of Jiyans wepon so their Jiyan can be OP and that can go up to 300k Yen(me think). Japan spends the most money per capita per person on Gacha games btw So this is not a nothing burger and not rally related to Sephirot in most cases, but there is also no good resolution on the Kuro side

No, the easiest way to escape from downfall of Kuro is to RETURN ALL THE CURRENCY SPENT on Verdant Summit to the player, it's they're mistake they should solved it, or Fear losing all JP based players.
Simple explanation why there's no buff on Calcharo during his RL. His RL has "no heavy attack" and his RL heavily relies on "basic attack and RL damage."
Funny enough, people forget that Jiyan RC1 gives him a 2nd Stack of his Skill. So combined he could perma use the buff with the weapon. And now he cant. This is way more infuriating for players i believe.

For comparison, WuWa is giving refunds for a translation error meanwhile the other game only provides 100 gems for these things and there are still some characters whose passive dont work properly like Mona’s C1, Klee bomb on Venti’s ult yet never gotten any flak for it
My guess is that they Mistranslated/Mislocalized it and that got all the JP people thinking it was Godlike on Calcharo. It isn't something I would Blame on JP, because Kuro did make such a Big mistake.
Not only localization but they haven’t even completed the optimisation for many android and iOS devices. My device can’t run the game properly and IK for a fact that my iPad 9th gen should run the game.
as a 1 pull verdant summit enjoyer : You can see the heavy damage bonus on character info (attribute details), in my case it increases from both intro and ult. although, i don't think its best for you to only uses heavy attack inside of your ult, it really is such a shame if the "Heavy Attack Mercy" and the other one doesn't considered a heavy attack but a forte, i would still argue its a shitty translation. At least they give my pull back i guess.
How's my theorey:- Kuro can just make extra paragraph to the weapon saying "When equipped by Charo" the 48% bonus works like as it was before(I mean u get the bonus even if u cast ult). {Just like the DREAMLESS ECHO has special criteria by Havoc-Rover}. This might be win win.

The whole localization is 1 big error. Takes like 10 minutes of gameplay to see the first awkward translations, text not fitting in the textbox, display errors for special letters in german, french etc.
The last part of the video is misinfo mr smack. I tested and the heavy bonus DOES trigger on liberation and intro skill. Its just that you need to go into character menu for it (no visual indicator)
I personally pulled for the weapon to max out my calcharo(still not leveled and built) but now you opened up my eyes so im with the first suggestion! Let it be calcharos sig too!!🤞🏾

are you sure the gold aura is the weapon buff? is it a generic buff indicator? I dont have the Summit but my Calcharo sometimes glow like this too and i play him with Jianxin too. idk
in my opinion, the best damage control would be to buff the weapon. They won't have to refund and on top of that more people might end up buying it because it'll be pretty OP so they could get even more money out of this mistake
This is a reason why on mihoyo games beta, they usually dedicate a lot of effort just to fix wording, translation, description etc.. to prevent this to happen.
