I've met this man at 5am in NY/Newark Airport after WrestleMania... I've never been so nervous to approach someone who was interacting with my 5yo son... This man is a straight up Humble, American Hero
Heck yeah! He once came into the Joe's Crab Shack I worked at for a pickup order (king crab dinners, of course). I went out to just tell him I loved his work. He was nice, shook my hand and thanked me, and I left it at that :)
Respect for anyone in the wrestling business but especially Kurt. I'll always remember when he was a heel and his theme song and the crowd would chant "you suck" 🤣
Kurt sounds like a really good and nice guy. He understands wrestling and he respects the business. Also, he's amazing in the ring and got amazing and funny promos.
Iron shiek did an interview with Sean Oliver(the one where he plays "What's In The Bag"), and u can tell Shiek had his " medicine" before the interview started lol
Angle had everything. Incomparable timing in comedy and in the ring, having some of the best matches with myriad of fellow Hall of Famer’s like Austin, Hogan, Rock, Sting, taker, HBK, Cena, Orton and so many more. I wish we got to see Kurt vs Bret
Damn you can tell he is all pilled out in this video. He has oxy eyes and the node scratch to boot. I’m glad he is clean now because he is a living legend❤️
The way the feud intertwined between Jericho and angle wanting triple h taken out it would if made sense for it to be a triple threat match and have triple h overcome huge odds to win his big comeback title, payoff would of felt better
One of my favorite WWE memories involves Kurt Angle. We had gotten some pretty crap tickets to the first PPV show in Dallas. Fully Loaded from Reunion Arena (circa 2000). Then, as we pull up to the show, my buddy who worked for the local rock station (97.1 KEGL if you care) called me and asked if we'd gone in the building yet. I said no. He told me to meet him at a certain gate and gave us 2 tickets for floor seats, right by the ramp. This is also my first ever WWE show. I'd seen lots of wrestling over the years. Von Erichs when I was a boy, local matches in Fort Worth. But I'd never seen a WWE (well, WWF at the time) show before. It was incredible. Great roster, great matches, some of my lifelong favorites right there, bigger than life. Then, Angle and 'Taker have their match start. Which is already huge because obviously I'm a fan of both guys. But during their match, 'Taker hurls Kurt into our row! He's right there in front of me while they're brawling. So much fun. After that I said I would always upgrade to floor seats if it were possible, because there's just nothing else like it. If you have the chance and the means, I highly recommend it. Not sure what's going on in WWE lately, I haven't had time to watch. But no matter what, there's nothing like a live wrestling show.
It’s sad that this is the most clear I’ve heard Angle speak in like 10 years he seems to have trouble even speaking nowadays just hope that he doesn’t regret sacrificing his own well being to entertain us cause he’s gonna live the rest of his life in serious pain
Lol facts bro he's totally loaded. Apparently he used to take up to 65 a day which is amazing without overdosing. If he took them all at once it be a different story glad he's doing better nowadays.
I never appreciated Angel at the time but honestly he should be discussed as a serious candidate as the best ever. Athletic, can do all the styles, high flying, technical, grappler, the slams. Great heel. Maybe other guys are better on the mic or cut better promos or were even better characters but it’s not like Angel is bad at that stuff.
I was JUST thinking about that, he’s no a high flyer but he was a GREAT tactical wrestler now thinking about it, all his matches from 1999 - 2007 he was on 🔥
Its sounds like Kurt's journey describing the dynamic w/ Steve Austin thats going on rn on RAW with Riddle and Orton, Vince probably says the same thing about Riddle "he's a dangerous moron"
Kurt in his prime vs Bret Hart in his prime is the ultimate dream match for me They could match each other hold for hold on the mat of the wring and keep the crowd on the edge of their seats with a series of take downs quick covers submission holds I could just see it in my head happening at wrestlemania
Angle looks like an older more jacked version of Corey Haim. 🤣 But definitely one of my all time favorites. 👍 The match he put on with Shane at KOTR was insane!
Despite all of his talents, I always felt Kurt spent most of his career as the ultimate jobber to the stars. He always seemed to be around the top of the card in storyline, but was constantly putting everyone else over.
In my opinion, Kurt Angle should have won the Undisputed Championship that night and faced Triple H at WrestleMania 18 instead of Jericho. Not only that, and even though Triple H did feud with Angle before WrestleMania 18, they should have picked up right where they left off with their 2000 love triangle storyline that ended abruptly. That was a missed opportunity.
GOAT. Not HBK, not Flair, and not even Bret and Owen. Kurt was better than all of them AND was money on the mic AND was the most legit ever. Only remote competition is Macho Man when it comes to overall ability.
@@bradlee5874 he didn't sly Cena tho he just said he tasked to teaching him how to work at the time because he was over but still very green and then he literally said he was so proud of him and he is teaching himself to be great now.
Angle really screwed himself letting Jericho win the undisputed title though. Angle was stuck working KANE at Wrestlemania 3 months later while Jericho was in the main event.
Damn, would have loved having Angle beat Rock and Austin instead of Jericho, gave him way too much ego after that, Angle would just have been more to my liking since he's a favourite of mine.
It makes sense his role changed to put others over. He would obviously destroy almost anyone in a shoot wrestle so they had fun with it. Still a monster in the ring
John may be good wrestler but when comes to business I always find it stupid that he let a man own his name Vince owns his real birth name I don’t understand how u of that to the point of he makes that man millions and millions every movie I believe it was 20 % he talks about it on the Howard sterns podcast
Undersized and wrestled everybody Austin was afraid to with similiar injuries that austin used as excuses. True respect ! Now that’s an 🇺🇸 ! Oh it’s true!
kinda hard to watch as this was clearly during angles abuse issues. anyone whos ever done pills can tell hes awfully fucked up during this lol. glad he got his life together.
Lol Cena ain't that great of a wrestler my guy. Sounds like you have a hard on for baby faces. 👶 John Cena was the modern day hulk Hogan. Can talk on the mic. Got a gimmick that appealed to younger/ family oriented people, sold a shitload more merchandise than anyone else. Did shitty movies. And as brett hart said 1/10 wrestler
@@mikehunt8247 Cena doesn’t have a thread of the Charisma that Hogan had. Check out Hulk’s reception after returning to the WWF in 2002. Hulk had the the men, women and the children.
