If you want to know all about Kurt Cobain don't go to his house he lived in very briefly after he became rich and famous visit the house where most of their songs were written. Go to 114 Pear Street in Olympia, Washington. That house is so famous with Nirvana. On the walls they spray painted the words 'Kurt Smells Like Teen Spirit" after Kurt had been sprayed with a bottle of women's deodorant entitled "Teen Spirit." Everybody always makes the mistake and goes to Seattle when they need to go to Olympia and Aberdeen. that's where it all took place.

I think it is very sweet & rather moving that these two guys have gone out of their way to pay homage to Kurt Cobain by visiting his house, writing a message to him on the bench and making a very decent video of their trip.. Good on yer guys ! Paying your respect to a musician who touched so many hearts & gave so much happiness to millions who just loved his music so much.. If he wasn't on drugs and he didn't marry Courtney, he could have lived happily at last in that nice house, composing songs according to his own liking, working on side projects with people like Michael Stipe. But drug abuse and a bad marriage turns even heaven into hell. Behind those doors, there surely was nothing but despair.
@Waitingforriki Thanks mate. Kurt's music has given me so much, and my brother (the other guy in the video) thankfully shares my passion. This was something we both really wanted to do and when the opportunity came to go to the US, this visit to his house was a must for us.

Some people just can't remember song names. Especially every song by a band. I'm a HUGE Gorillaz fan. and I still find songs I don't know (mind you they are leaked unreleased songs that didn't make the cut on the albums LOL)
I went to see his house a few years ago on the first day I came into Washington. Totally unprepared we asked a barista at Starbucks for directions and were only able to find it because there wasn't a fire number. It was one of the best days of my life by far. My only regret is I didn't have anything to write on the bench with next time I go I'll be sure to bring a Sharpie! Thank you for the video! It was great to remember the journey there!

@MrJennifer1219 The Green Tortoise Hostel is in the centre of Seattle, right near the famous markets with all the buskers (they're also worth a visit.) I recommend the Hostel to anyone who wants to stay in seattle, I've done a lot of backpacking and it's one of the best I've stayed at, pretty cheap too. We walked to the house (as you can see from the video) from the hostel. It took us about an hour and a half to walk, there are also buses that go there - the hostel staff can tell you about it.
I'm really sorry too! He came to my house 1 night & spent the night.I wish he had stayed b/c no one would've found him there.When he left,he stole my nevermind cd.What does that tell ya?He didn't want anyone to have it,poor guy.He was so beautiful physically.Those blue eyes & that red hair.That's 1 night I'll never forget! He actually drove me home just so I would get home safely & he didn't even know me.I'm gonna cry..His was a heart of pure gold! He so deserved peace.He was so sweet to me!

@FrozenCrewGr, You think it's a nice house? Well, it is, but it's not even close to as nice as the other homes in Seattle near Kurt's house. His home sold for $4,556,900.00 when Courtney Love sold it. His neighbor a few homes away though, sold their home for $26,999,999.00
Well, they do that because they HAVE to because fans steal the bench regurlarly! Someone ownes the original bench where Kurt wrote his lyrics on. That's awesome, to have that bench standing in your room. On the other hand it's a shame all the other fans can't see the real bench anymore.

@ironmaiden12341 I forget the address now.. we stayed in the Green Tortoise hostel, the staf in there gave us really good directions. Awesome free breakfast in that hostel too.. brownies, fresh fruit, waffles..
Replying to a youtube comment 9 years later is strange for me but since i live in Seattle i figured i would - Green Tortoise, Seattle's Best Hostel, www.greentortoise.net/ I believe this building will be demolished sooner or later depending on covid-19 economic issue but i usually only see homeless people hanging around, i thought it was a shelter until i googled the address.
Someday, when I´m not afraid about flying in airplanes, A place I would like to visit is Seattle, and of course, ¨Kurt´s¨ house. Is Aberdeen too far from Seattle?
My exes Aunt now lives in Seattle, her husband is from there, and of course every single person he knows used to hang out with Kurt Cobain, which roughly translates into, they never met him but their lives are sad and empty and they need some attention.

@yorkandpomona It sucks how private the Cobain family is. I mean I've never seen Wendy or Kim Cobain on TV. Everyone just want's to know everything there is to know and no wendy is getting old and who knows what Kim is up to, I wish they would do or say something public.
