It’s gonna take awhile to get to mars, for the fastest ship on earth, it will take up to 7 months to get to mars. We are gonna need a faster way for space travel

Anything past the local group we would need near lightspeed travel to even make distance so if alien travel from a different group of galaxies they might aswell be 4th dimensional beings compared to our atom splitting monkey ways

The cool thing is, if you were in space and you'd push a little rock, the rock would be flying through space at thousands of miles per hour after a few weeks since there is nothing to slow it down in space. It only accelerates. If there's nothing in the way for long enough, the rock would eventually fly through space at near light speed. The longer it travels, the faster it will go.

@@ex5080 The local group? Are you talking about Galaxies? Cos if so, you're waaay off. Even to "get around" within our _own_ Galaxy we'd need to be able to travel _faster_ than light. Our Galaxy is 100,000 light years across. And you can't actually go in a straight line from one side to the other, you have to go around the outside of the Galaxy center. So the distance is actually even longer than 100,000 light years in real-terms. If you went at anything less than light-speed that would increase the travel time exponentially, and even going faster than light it would still likely be a multi-generational journey just to get even close to halfway to the other side of our Galaxy. That would be the equivalent of leaving Earth as a hunter-gatherer caveman, and only arriving when we've reached our modern-day level. All still inside our own Galaxy, nevermind going _even further_ out to visit _other_ Galaxies - even nearby ones.

@@DavidStruveDesigns yeah I was just trying to convey how seemingly impossible it would be to even remotely make distance in our massive universe. Kinda like, even if humanity or an alien species could travel at light speed it'd still take probably millions of years to escape our own little gravity bubble. Being the Andromeda Galaxy, our Milky way, and the Triangulum Galaxy (totally didn't have to look up the last one)

Oh and I _totally_ didn't _also_ look up the Triangulum Galaxy either when trying to work out what the nearest galaxies to ours are ;) Nope, didn't do that at all 😁

@@ex5080 Further than regular radio waves as these ones are focused and are meant to be sent out. Forget off hand how far but yeah, it is further than normal. Still people are doing it not to actually send messages but as a way to say "Hey, I told told Susan Watsit to suck a dick and made sure it would be hearable beyond Pluto!"

@@Brian2 I'm quite certain radio waves are the most efficient wavelength to use for long distances communication and signals. Unless you focus a literal lazer pulse... but that will most definitely cost more than any of us could make in a lifetime I realize it's most likely a gag thing and they probably don't even send a signal, take the money ez since no ones going to be able to receive it to prove it was emitted

Other life needs to be able to learn but technology is something that you decide to make like i know this is bad for our bodies and understanding the difference and why that is what make you the god of universe humans became more concouse of there environment iv seen the movies
