Agreed. The K2600/K2661 and ASR-10 are the greatest hardware synthesizer/sampler hybrids ever made. The ASR-10 is totally a synthesizer, not just a sampler. It's an amazing wavetable/grain table synthesizer, and one of the best, if you know how to use it in depth.
If this is the K2661, it's been fully tarted up coming out of the factory. They are factory presets as far as I remember. The KB3 sounds shamefully good. The things are built like Hammond B3's not the chopped ones, and just as heavy those keys are real wood as is the cabinets. Maple I think. What you hear is the reason something made before some of you were hatched is still around. Just going in a house of worship and seeing a classy setup with one of these and perhaps some other uppity keyboard you know somebody must be an absolute hellion on the ivory for a church to invest in such a thing cause they are basically studio fixtures not really meant to be moved once registered in their destinations. Oh did I mention they are still expensive. Still carry Cachet with players still allow import of custom sounds like Moog Apr Fairlight. Very Nice.
@MRSamSlick100 yes it is a great keyboard very good ... with large and heavy sounds amazing sound quality ... I'm still waiting Kurzweil introduces a newer model to replace it ...
Hello. I just looked at your video and I have to say it was amazed. Unbelievably beautiful full sounds, especially piano. It would be possible for you to get this set of sounds, I would be very grateful to you, I bought Kurzweil PC3K7 and K2600 samples are compliant, but unfortunately PC3K is not included and there is very much missing. I wish a lot of good luck and thank you in advance if you were kind. I apologize for the automatic translation, you might understand. Yours sincerely, Laco
I just found a brand new one in an unopened box in Turkiye for $2000. It’s not far off from a new k2700… different animals, but I’m wondering which sounds better.
