Three days, eight onsens. Yes I almost passed out at one point, but it was a risk I had to take and now my skin is silky smooth and i will be forever young (results unverified).
The three main onsen I visited in Kusatsu are:
-Sainokawara open-air bath
-Goza no yu
-Ohtaki no Yu
The Yumomi showing was located at Netsunoyu

Hi, amazing video you edited. I am going to fly to Japan and planning for Kusatsu in coming Feb mth. Which month and season is it during your visit to Kusatsu? Just wondering in daytime of Feb, is it going to be very windy in winter season? I am afraid I don’t feel warm enough and got too cold, will be bringing my heavy puffy winter jacket, Uniqlo heattech shirts and scarf. TIA!

Thank you! I went in early December and it was pretty cold! I think February will probably be cold too, but you should be fine with a nice puffy jacket. I'd guess around 2-6 degrees Celsius. The good news is that the hot springs will feel amazing during the cold!

Enjoyed your Video! Thank you! It’ll be on my bucket list for sure. Do you have to take a shower before you dip to the onsen, both in private or the public ones you visited?

Thanks a bunch! And yes, most of these places have a little shower area you have to use first before entering (you can actually see it at 7:04). I asked my Japanese friend and he said the onsens are for relaxing only, not cleaning. But now that you mention it though, 2 of the onsens I went to there didn't have that shower area which is kinda surprising!

It will be really far from somewhere like Tokyo, but I’m sure a day trip is fine if you’re only planning to see the yubatake and maybe take a quick dip in one or two of the onsens!
