This is like the sixth time I upload this video. Watch it before disney takes it down. Sponsored by: kuzco-topia VILLAIN RECRUITERS DISCORD SERVER: / discord
I’ve always liked how douchey and selfish he was because he’s so entertaining to watch. He’s one of those unlikable characters that are also likable, y’know?
To be fair he was a teenager who was handed everything to him his whole life and no one telling him no. How the heck did people expect him to act ? Yzma stated he had just turned 18 at his eulogy.
@@BigJohn303 that's true, of course. but there are a lot of villains who also have a reason to be the way they are and they're still villains. basically, Kuzco was the bad guy of the story until the second half of it, where Yzma takes over.
Kuzco is a vain, narcissistic, egotistical sleazy character done right. He’s got charm, wit, and a cruel brand of humor. We need more characters like that.
Comedic abuses of power and main character energy aside, Kuzco was the foolish, vain and narcissistic embodiment of gen Z. And he’d still be a loser llama without the help of Pacha, a first class millennial and an unsung legend. Don’t forget that.
We used to have a TV Cassette (2 in 1) and we would watch Disney cassette movies. Ah… nostalgia. At the start of every cassette movie, they had future movie ads. When I heard Kuzco’s voice on the movie ad, I loved it.
Sometimes making the protagonist a selfish person is risky, I mean look at Velma but I think one of the main reasons Kuzko gets positive reviews is because despite his flaws he is fun to watch and his immaturity is played for laughs, the Velma on the other hand...
Wooooah, you’re comparing two very different things. For one, you’re comparing good writing vs bad writing. For two, Kuzko is an arrogant, selfish prick but he’s a fun arrogant and selfish prick. He’s also put through the ringer to become better. Velma never does, because those delusional morons behind the show thought she was genuinely great and didn’t need to change. Much like Tony Stark, having a dick of a main character can work if A) They’re written and performed well by someone who’s charismatic as hell B) They undergo tribulations that make them realize what they’ve been doing the whole time and making changes
Velma its just mean and that's it. Kuzko its a spoiled rich kid, he's ruthless but he learned to be humble thanks to pacha. The character reedems himself. Velma its just her been "smarter" and mean for free
It's a combination of -The story recognizes his flaws -The story uses his shittiness mostly for comedy about how people in power can be -Kuzko gets put through the wringer for his selfishness (the entire plot of the movie happens because he fired Yzma for no reason) -He grows as a person -The Emperor's New Groove is written by funny people while Velma is corporate garbage.
That's how they usually treat male characters vs. female characters. Male MC is the shittiest person on Earth but he gets humbled by a series of changing events that would completely redeem him without erasing all the bad things he had done. Female MC would start off the same but would get a pass or even get praised for for their behavior because apparently she's right to be a 💀 girlboss 💀
@@MamaCeesay98idk about a live-action. Most of Disney’s remakes don’t understand the characters and stories. They act like they “improve” things when it’s the opposite. So it’s better to just spread the word about the animated film instead of making another pointless live-action movie.
@@user-dr2uy5or9t its like the screen. Think of a box. The first wall is the background, the second and third walls are what lets the characters move left and right, and the fourth wall is what the audience sees. So a fourth wall break is when one of the characters acknowledges the audience and interacts with them.
He's like a villain but not really with one of the most amazing redemption arcs I think I've ever seen and Kuzco is the best ever, he's a sweet lil angel baby who deserves the whole world, go argue with the wall.
A character can be a villain and protagonist. I feel, personally, that this movie has 2 villains: the protagonist, Kuzco, and the antagonist, Yzma. Kuzco has a villain redemption arc, in my opinion.
@@hawaiiboiskeezah8084 I don't blame her. If I spent a lot of time getting ready to see the Emperor and then he didn't even look at me twice, I'd be out for blood too.
@@creativehorsequeen she was the only one with the balls to do anything about it good thing she has a friend to stop her if not she would have been fed to the crocs such a good movie imo loved it many laughs for kids movie
Kuzco's humor was so ahead of the time when the movie came out and it's still funny after all this years the no touchy is 100% me as an introvert hahaha 😂
3:48 Pacha - "Low blood sugar, huh?" Kuzco - "Yeah, it's a curse." Me - I've seen this since I was little, and I could never tell if he was lying because he didn't want to walk anymore, or if he was telling the truth.
@@mysocksarewet well Incan emperors were normally carried in a litter Atahualpa's litter bearers still carried the emperor despite being behanded (or whatever the term for chopping off hands is called) by the conquistadors
I'm sorry... but this movie in spanish is a WHOLE other dimension of comedy. it doesn´t even compare to the movie in english. i guess you'll have to learn spanish to experience it, cuz honestly, u deserve to laugh THAT hard
in Incan society, the more the many-er concubines & children = more power & influence tho it's weird that both Kuzco and presumably his father seem to be lacking in the concubine & children department
I remember my teacher in elementary showed this movie to everyone, then I watched it again with my mom and now it's one of our favorite movies to watch! ❤️
How the hell did a 2D movie make me go from despising him and hoping he would die in the first half, to being insanely attracted to him and rooting for his victory in the second half? Top tier writing from Disney.
Bro if they put even HALF of the creativity and passion that went into this movie into their current projects we'd still have good content from Disney.
This movie was one of my favorites back when I was a child. I am actually surprised how original voice of Kuzco is so calm and soft. He sound like a nice older brother with some nasty sides, when in Russian his voicelines are so loud you can imagine being right in front of him while trying to punch emperors face.. I mean in a good way, lol
Wonder how it would have turned out if we got Kingdom of the Sun instead though. I mean looking at Yzma's recreated villain song alone it would have been great.
