Crikey, bit out of my knowledge base that one! I would guess that surely there must have been some trade in those early days, but whereas factories in the UK built locomotives to send to railways being built in the old British Empire, plus I think to places in South America (or at least Argentina), I'm not aware of that happening to the US. But, like I said, not really something I'm much of an expert on...
