Another cool video, I want to do this series next year but need to get a 2 stroke enduro the CRF450 will cook in that and no electric start makes it hard. Id suggest getting or fabricating a small radiator recovery tank so it can suck the coolant back in again once it cools. I built one for my 450 and it works great because if you haven't got one and you boil once it will boil faster the next time. The clutch adds a lot of heat so as someone said below gear it down a lot so you can keep off the clutch.

I know how hard it is to ride one of those off-road. I’ve got a 21 and it sucks on trails. You did great on that thing. They’re much too stiff and don’t get any rear wheel traction. Great track bike though.

was waiting to see it overheat. i have a 23 kx450x that i've been doing a lot of hard enduro style riding on and fighting the issue in tight technical terrain. I'm planning on ordering a high flow water pump, high pressure cap, and a fan kit to get me by until i can afford to buy a beta xtrainer

I gave up my 09 kx450f for a 2019 yz250x 2stroke and I've never looked back! The kx was sooo heavy and tired me out in 6 hours of riding mountain woods in colorado! The yz is light and way better suited for this type of riding your doing! On the track I would rather ride the kx450f any day! Use the right tool for the right job!!!

All this on a 450 thats crazy and so far no flame outs my 350 favorite thing to do is flame out so im kinda jealous

Luke, what gearing are you using? It sounds like you are running too tall gearing for that snotty stuff. The tune sounds okay, although I would keep it as rich as possible. Doesn't sound like flame-outs are an issue.

What year is that? I’ve heard the 2022+ have a lack of power

I was just watching DirtBikeTest talking about how the KX450 makes a good offroad and vet bike lol. They were testing it on the west coast of America and I was thinking, yeah that's not gonna work in Australia lol. Well done for giving it a punt. Nice groomed trails too.

Did you have a radiator fan? I have had a real challenge keeping enough air moving without one. Looks like at times you did too. I blew up a couple engines doing that exact thing.

You should get a fan kit. keep the bike cooler

Hi mate even though it’s like a year later that I have seen this footage, I want to say great riding in the way you handled the bike. I am looking at getting a 2019 KX450 or the Husky FC450. What bike you recommend? Also are these bikes suitable for just normal trail riding? Thank you legend 👍

If you were on a bike 4 strokes often played with the clutch...

Going slow on any 4 stroke, struggling to get up hills is going to kill it. That 450 has over 50HP, point and shoot it climbs anything.

After all It looks like you did have fun except for that little part and if I ever get a bike I’ll take your advice not to get one of those for enduro 👍

To be honest I would rather have a to 52 stroke in the trails than a 4 stroke because the power is more smooth with a 2 stroke
