I can totally relate to this reason. I work in tech and speak at conferences. It was hard for me to keep applying for visas to each and every country where conferences were held when I was living in India. Moving to Germany has solved that problem partially. But I'm definitely looking forward to having a more privileged passport so that I don't have to deal with a lot of this bureaucracy-related stuff. In the past, I have had to let go of certain speaking opportunities because of the same reason too.

Would like To add if you loose Indian citizenship, any property you sell say house , you will be charged capital tax as foreigner ..in addition to other taxes. Also if you renounce foreign passport , You will easily get back Indian.

Hi Arvind. We are a couple (my wife is from Kullu, Himachal) looking to tour Norway in Aug. However, we are facing a lot of difficulties in even getting a Schengen visa appointment. Are there any good Schengen visa agents (or specifically for Norway) that you can suggest. Will be super helpful. Thanks.

I think its only VFS who can provide you the visa.

@@NamastefromNorway I think that is not correct Dr. Keprate. VFS is simply an agency to whom the responsibility of collecting documents / biometrics of visa applicants has been outsourced. Visas can only be provided (or not) by the embassies of the respective countries.

You're lucky you're in Norway. Because for getting US citizenship, you've to say an oath where you have to declare that you absolutely and entirely renounce all allegiance and fidelity to the state of which you've been a citizen of. Brooo, how can we renounce allegiance and fidelity to out motherland? You are lucky because Norway's citizenship oath doesn't make you say this shit.

Ye itna chu* logic hai: Ik aadmi ki do gf hai, dono se barabar pyaar karta hai Basically you cannot seeve India, India doesn't entertain dual citizenship period so you or me, anyone going abroad is one thing, but claiming loyalty to India after rejecting citizenship of Indiaand it's laws it simply dual standards.
