Hiya Jim, Another interesting podcast, awe-inspiring. Its fascinating how Kyle; and your other guests also, talk about their education levels yet they are continually educating themselves. Intelligent guys, so impressive and inspiring. Incredibly high achievers. I learn from watching. Thank-you Both❣️

I'm always impressed with the production quality of the videos especially the music and the cinamatic sound effects. Kyle and Jim make a good team.

Thanks a lot. It’s great to have Simone like him tk work with to stay ontop of getting all the footage have edited and out there. Ontop of him, my wife Tori edits a lot of stuff, most recently the Stikine River “into Alaska” family canoeing series and the Living Under Canvas winter camping trip. and the vast majority of stuff on my RU-vid channel I have edited but now with the podcast I’m doing less of that due to time and needing to get out and film more adventures (a good problem to have!). I do like the process and creating something in the edit but it is extremely time consuming so, I dint know if it’s the best long term play for me to always edit everything with the type of stuff I do on my channel.

Ha, that’s awesome. I never got it from you out rather, Nat Geo was going to name our show that but went with home in the wild instead. Really glad you’re enjoying the podcast. It’s been a lot of work and expense so far but I’m going to keep it going.

@@JimBairdAdventurer I can't remember if it was on Facebook or RU-vid but you were talking about starting the podcast and names were being suggested. So what would be your top guest if you could bring then on? Ray Mears would be cool? Maybe one of the guys from mountain men show?

This was really great. I would love to hear from editors more often. Very interested in their process. I actually LOVE editing my footage almost as much as the trips themselves. But I’d love to just watch someone like this edit. Currently it takes me WAY too long.

It does take a long time, even with experience but it definitely gets faster! It’s nice to build something in an edit like that and then sit back and look at what you created.

That was interesting...and the cat's out of the bag haha. I did not know other people edited the the youtube films although I knew that other people commented instead of the youtuber in the comments. I do know however that getting all the film together is a lot of hard work to think of angles, lighting etc. I enjoyed the conversation concerning the adventures to film the adventures. The Yukon Film was just beautiful and amazing. But you never spoke about the blackflies - that pale skin is a banner for them! My ex is a ginger and those biting bugs just loved him. Have a great day! 🙂

Thanks a lot, ya I have edited the vast majority of my videos but sometimes with trips that are close to each other and other things on my plate with the channel, I need to get some help with the time consuming editing process in order to keep weekly videos going live for my subscribers. I dint have an issue with black flies really, definitely less than your average person. I don’t think it has anything to do with skin colour, in-fact white is better at detracting them typically than darker colours. My wife has brown skin and she gets more blackfly bites than I do when we’re on the bush together using the same level of protection. So, it’s true that black flies are attracted to some people more than others but this is due to certain factors such as body odor, body heat, and carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted while breathing. The type of bacteria present on a person's skin and their diet can also influence the attraction of flies

Bringing tourism to a pristine part of the world can very easily be seen as a negative. Introducing 1st world bs to a place isn't a good thing. No question people will take advantage of the situation to make money and the locals will get the shaft and be treated as animals in a zoo

Thanks a lot for chiming in. This could be true but I think that, the people of the island are living in caves and that they are excited for a certain amount of sustainable tourism. The infrastructure isn’t there for much. It was the country that commissioned the filmmaker to create footage for them to use. This is a lot better of a way to find educational programs, healthcare and the like than resource extraction. I know what you mean though.

@JimBairdAdventurer I hear ya. Sometimes the poorer a people, the happier they are. Introduce electricity for example and now they have to earn enough to pay for it, then they will have to pay taxes for the infrastructure. It goes on and on until you wonder what happened when your old concerns were catching enough fish to eat. Easy for me to say I suppose, sitting in my climate controlled house ;) Hope modern society doesn't crush the beautiful place they have and their somewhat simplistic lives

Jim, I love you, I love your family. I have been a big fan for a long time. This guy says "like" made it unwatchable. I stopped counting the "like" at 958. I had to turn it off.
