Glad you made this video, I've been looking into Argos, specifically the xr500 & xr700, which are both kymco ATVs. The xr500 is indeed an mxu450 & the air filter location was one of my points of contention with the atv. Have you personally seen/dealt with any issues with this setup? Like puttin a rock through the plastic from the front tire which is directly below it, or so it seems? I guess my next question is how well sealed it is, I'm not a mud rider but we do have a fair bit of water on the trails here so it's just a bit concerning. The mxu700 has the airbox below the seat as one normally does. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
so we have been using this thing for a few years. we havent had any issues that im aware of. some of the guys are pretty hard on them haha. it cant really be seen in the video but there was definitely some dirt in the air box. the way it keeps itself sealed seems to be ok... but just being up front, its going to get a lot of junk down in it.
@@Simpsons.R.S thanks for the quick reply! What's the miles on this thing? Any major issues besides wear & tear on average parts? Yeah I agree, I think it's location is terrible, given the bigger model has it in under the seat.
@mattneily5507 id have to go back and look at the miles... but the thing runs absolutely amazing. not super powerful, but for what it is, its actually good. i use it before the honda rancher. just because i like the cvt trans. when it comes to issues... basically all the bushings blew out on it... the rear knuckle bushing actually just went out. which isnt a huge deal but getting parts for it can be a major pain and i feel its only going to get worse as time goes on.
Anyone familiar with Kymco ATVs? We have a 2021 mxu 450i and having an issue with it cutting off. Runs great until it gets hot then it shuts off and becomes hard to start again then shuts off when you give it gas. Tried/ Plug, Coil, CDI box. all of those are working properly. (We have 2 of the exact same atvs so I was able to rule out some things by swapping parts. Not sure what else to try.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I would check the valve clearance and see if they are in spec. When you say getting hot, as in normal operating temp or it's actually over heating?
