Kyoshi is my favorite Avatar. She had the hardest life, Went from a shy street orphan who opposed violence. She was so passive she was unable to harness her natural born earth bend abilities properly. She adapted into a ruthless force of nature. I'd love a Kyoshi movie. She had a borderline Villainous origin story. She wasn't loved and respected only because she was powerful. She was feared.
Zuko....attacking Kyoshi...a literal 7 foot lady while in the avatar state. Fought a water bender under a full moon ..and still tried to go after aang while he's literally wrecking havoc on hundreds of battleships. Bro don't think things through 🤣🤣
I really like the tough love that kyoshi gave to aang, very consistent with her character, this makes sense because hello people are dying... aang is like a 100 year old child soldier that needs to grow up fast. When she said you have to be a merciless warrior, i was so proud of her, yeah that is so Kyoshi. Fire nation got lucky she didn't freeze their lungs
Another point of interest in this conversation. Not only is kyoshi telling a 100-year-old Avatar child to grow up, she herself lived over 200 years. So even after being frozen in ice and being technically 112 years old but really 12, she was a full 200 something years old. She saw some shit. She has 200 years under her belt while Aang has 12.
But the fact that he used the unagi to save the people of kyoshi Island, showed aangs determination to save people even though he could bend any other elements otheryhan air at that time. That ep shows aangs selfless duty as avatar as he could gave just escaped but tamed and unagi and saved the people with his own wits.
@@hari9497That worked better in a humorous children's cartoon avoiding depiction of personal violence as much as possible, rather than a War-God-type raining elemental destruction upon her enemies which makes more sense for a TV show targeting a broader audience. Lot of the original fans of the cartoon are watching the Netflix show, all in their 30s and late 20s. As one of that crowd, at least I much prefer this. Same reason the destruction of the Air Nomads was not shown in the cartoon, but was shown vividly in this show.

@@mr2ksportsheatYes. The tone of this show is decidedly more serious, and several of the child characters are older in the adaptation. That was never a secret. The adaptation has a TV-14 rating compared to Y7 for the original which is even lower than G. For reference, shows like The Rookie, NCIS, House MD have TV-14 rating. Personally I am glad. I never wanted a shot-by-shot live action clone of a children's cartoon. What would be the point of that? We already have the original whenever we want to watch it.
I thought I'd gotten over the 'superhero' flicks but this eye-sparkling super heroine kyoshi? was sooooo cooooollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll. This should be made into a blockbuster movie.

They also destroyed them, she would never treat another avatar badly, she would never yell at Aang like here, not after crying with Yangchen and kuruk... kuruk would never say that the avatar should be alone, not after being forced to suffer for it

"Did the Cartoon Justice" Also the Live Action Series: removes very important and crucial catalysts and foundations for the Story. Has several moments full of amateur hour acting that felt completely unnatural, disintegrates one of Aang's most important scenes in S1 with Monk Gyatso, TRIES TO BE TOO Serious and SUPERFICIAL with fake "maturity". @HardinProuductionsOriginal they weren't given anywhere near the same time to cover the same events. Yeah there are some arcs I wish stayed, but nothing by any means ruined this. Obviously it's still not much compared to the masterpiece of the original, but to go so far to call anyone who doesn't agree with your view on the series a "fake fan" is too much my guy

I agree with you, the actors in the cast don't feel like Avatar characters at all and Appa didn't even come out of the ice. Why did Katara find the water scroll in the first place and how did this girl learn to waterbend so fast? They disregarded her character development. Why does Sokka fight so well on Kyoshi island? Undoubtedly the best scene of the entire season. I screamed with excitement and tears. That's how the powerful Avatar ought to be. Enjoyed the season absolutely.
Imagine this scene in theaters, they would have turned into stadiums for sure! That's like the coolest scene in the entire 1st season. I was expecting the ending to be as cool as this scene, if not more, but it turned out to be a Godzilla movie instead. Anyways, 2 more seasons left. Not letting my hopes down😂
This was the best scene in the whole series, wish could have been lot longer. I wish they had made Roku also as cool and kept the scene where his form goes through Aang and fights Firebenders
I dont think there is a strength difference between avatars, just different personalities. She is fierce and ready for the fight, so she comes off as more combative in general. All fully realized Avatars are basically the same if you remove personality differences.
@@tgm.nabam101 Avatar state is different from the person Itself. Aang stopped being in Avatar state when the avatar state tried to kill Ozai. Aang basically lost to Ozai.
I was apprehensive at this change, that previous avatars can just take over and transform like that. But damn, the level of badassery and epicness made me deal with it. I love it.
I wish I had a series on her instead of Korra. She is more interesting and looks awesome in most animation and live action. Korra is a thug who acts really, really spoiled. I prefer Azula over her because she was a little girl who was pushed and pushed which is why she is on a similar level to Uncle Iron. So many great female characters and Korra is the one with a show. I wish I liked her but she is awful to everyone and has tantrums over nothing. Aang had tantrums but he was an actual child who developed throughout the show whilst keeping his innocence but also being emotionally stronger and wiser. Korra never really had much growth and played with her friends emotions for no reason. Also Korra show made Aang seem harsher and not a great father, which is the opposite of who Aang should be. Plus there was no Old Lady Azula...Not even a mention by her brother of uncle. Iroh never despised his niece. He knew that could have been how Zuko turned out which is why he guided him to be better. Iroh was no hypocrite and seemed to be better after saving those dragons and being nice to everyone including the lady jailor he warned to not come back the next day. A continuation of Aang's adventures as he grew up with all the other characters would have been cool. Then a Kyoshi mini series. There are the books but they are very limited in what they show. Aang being a neglectful father and being killed by a subpar gang boss is meh. I did not mind the technology in the future that much but Korra really irritated me for some reason. I did like the lady who had similar power to Combustionman but she died very quickly. I liked some characters but I never liked how the Avatar was explained and some random being given the power. I liked it being a reincarnation type thing like Buddha or Doctor Who. This live action series looks decent so far. And I am usually disappointed by live action adaptations. Exceptions were One Piece, the Japanese Death note films (not the bland American one where not a lot happened and the best bit was the twist at the end) and a few other ones. I watched scenes of JoJo Bizarre Adventure Part 4 live action for the CGI Stands, not for the acting. Some of the scenes with the Stands were cool.
This is Kyoshi's 1% on her happiest day..😅..she usually brings the apocalypse at her worst. Her presence itself means death sentence to anything moving.
I absolutely loved her!!!! She was already a favorite of mine, but the live action really did her justice. She was beautiful and compelling…. They did a great job on the casting
I'm glad I gave this adaptation series the chance and it's done so well being as faithful as possible to the books/cartoon that I got goosebumps seeing the actual Kyoshi 😆. It gave Kyoshi more exposure than the cartoon did and I love how she's adapted.
I love how absolutely terrified Zuko looked when he saw Kyoshi. Like she’s 9 feet tall I would be terrified even if I didn’t know how brutal her fighting style is
Amazing video. She was my favorite part of the show. I was smiling ear to ear everytime we saw her, and when she took over Aang... goosbumbs. The show was pretty good, but honestly, it would have been so much more interesting to see a live action Kyoshi series. She's a huge fan favorite so she would have brought in views and given Avatar fans content we've never seen. I'm glad Avatar studios will give us that, I just wish we didn't have to still wait for a few years.
i'm ngl this scene really sold me on this show, at first was meh but damn when kyoshi took over i lost it, the effects, the suprise, the look, and just everything was so sick!
Gives me strong, hope that the next major project they take on will be the Kyoshi movie and I hope that the actress that played her in this will reprise the role I feel like she embodied whatmost of us all expected kyoshi to be like at least on a personality aspect I love it. I feel like the entire production will only get better from here.
Awwww yeah they did Kyoshi right. She was always one of the more warrior focused of the avatars. Her position among Aang's past lives was pretty much "I'm the badass he calls up when shit gets real". Its also cool that I see a lot of Toph in her too.
I would have 2 complains but overall a really good series first the clothes of the characters look to clean they need more dirt look more used and second the series seems a bit rushed they dont take a break just moving from place to place
@@dragonsky8396 I agree it could have been much better squeezed into 10-12 episodes rather than 8 episodes. It could be better but to be fair its much better than I expected after the awful M Night Shyamalan movie.

Avatar Kyoshi is such a badass, but Avatar Aang will always have my heart. I'm emotionally invested in his narrative. Assume you are the youngest Avatar in the pantheon and the last of your tribe. How would you deal with such a terrifying and emotional situation? Imagine waking up at 12 years old and being told you've been missing for a century. He had to finish the mission of a fully evolved avatar in less than a year in the original (canon) story. Roku, Kyoshi, and Yangchen are all amazing, but Aang will always be my top choice! He's my ultimate avatar!😎
This Avatar show is epic! It was done right in every way!!! I binged watched all Episodes and without giving it away, it stayed true (pretty much), to the story and animated series! If anything, and what people didn't notice, through Kyoshi, is when she bended all the elements, we actually got 100% of a taste of what the AVATAR actually is, and how powerful Aang will be! If you haven't seen the original Nickelodeon animated series, this version will show you all! I LOVE THIS VERSION!
She is one of the top tier avatars. It's actually held that outside of the avatar state she was the most powerful avatar bender. It's actually debated if she moved kyoshi island under her own strength or the avatar state
This had me in tears. Seeing how well they were able to make this moment gave me hope in the future of the show. With all the things going on with remakes and live action shows its noce to see someone was paying attention

I’m happy with what Netflix did, let’s be real there’s no way an adaptation is going to be perfect! There are no fake or real fans, just people who love the series and we all see things differently. I don’t understand all the hate?! Why can’t we just enjoy even if it’s different from the original, I mean the original will forever be amazing and no one will ever make justice. So let’s just enjoy the amazing work from costumes to scenery, etc because behind those scenes that aren’t “perfect” there is a lot of people who worked hard and gave their all. Can’t wait for season two 😊
Suki is so fine 😩 and kyoshi looks bad ass 👌 the costumes are really on point , let's hope the acting and the feel of it is as close to the show , even if it's not an exact copy all that matters is the feeling of it all , the same feeling you get from watching the Animated Avatar .. IFYKYK
