From my experience running anything 4wd on the street with big tires is a recipe for stripped diffs. It’s so tempting to go rip on the pavement but you can make any rc last a lot longer by avoiding it - unless it’s designed for it or a high end model with super tough parts. At this price point I’d look at this a s a really cool looking rc for casual use. If you bash it, it’s not going to,last :(
After about three months I have changed-out the stock front and rear diff rings. I have up graded to the hardened steel ones. Installed a light kit for head and tail lights. The body cracked near the one tail light, causing light tub to partially to pop out. Re-installed with shoe-goo and fiber-glass mess.3 out 5 stars. I love my Armma 4s Mojave Desert truck it is a fast and a tank for bashing, much more durable.
I was super disappointed in my Mad Van VE. Every time I drove it something broke. I ran mine very conservative like you did also and it kept breaking. The body literally fell apart on my 1st run in the grass. I ended up deleting the front diff/driveshaft/axles so it's RWD and nothing has broken since after a bunch of runs and it's actually fun now. 👍👍
I love this van. It performs so well. Great job on the video. You drove it hard and it did quite well other than the stripped diff gears. Thanks for such a good review. 👍🏁
Dang, we’ve been jumping the heck out of our brushed version. Only thing we broke was a shock ball end on the back and that was cause I landed on a stick. I replaced that and the spring disc with some spare Tamiya stuff I had from friction shocks. It worked .. man this thing rips even more than the brushed version. Have a great day my friend
Hello, I loved this review because I’ve been thinking about buying the mad van but with everything that I have watched and seen and heard I changed my mind, I ended up buying the Arrma Granite mega 4wd and the Traxxas stampede. I liked your video and I also subscribed to your channel, it was a pleasure to watch it
Awesome video brother, I love my mad van VE I had to go in and adjust my brakes following the instructions of the manual. Much better plus I put mine up to punch level five it’s way better. You can always dial it down. If you don’t like all the power on the remote, but it’s better for the ESC to be wide-open in my opinion, keep making great videos.
*sister :) But thanks for the tip and thanks for watching! :) As frustrated as I was with my particular Mad Van, it's still a great looking truck and I'm glad you're enjoying yours! :D
Right on sister message received. I hope you got your brakes fixed and just FYI they have a purple body in case you’re interested it’s for the brushed version, but it will fit the brushless.
I would like to buy a arrma granite because the chassis looks more "off road" ,the volcano and mad van chassis look like on road (track) chassis. What surprised me a lot was that the crown and differential gears wore out at 2s that these monster brushless are "designed for 3s" which is a big lie, I have friends who say that the granite v3 arrma does not support 3s (the differentials also wear out, and crown when you use it with 3s) that is, they barely resist a battery 2s 😪
Try to avoid power landings. on my maverick quantum xt flux it oblitorates the diffs if you land on power but if you let off just before you land it will last alot longer those motors are soo powerfull when they are full bore your not stoping it. I just bought the mad van ve type 2 rather exited to see what she does, sorry to see you having trouble with yours
