I got my adapter, bead locks and Falken Wildpeak MT’s in the mail. Installed and went for a rip! had to sand down my front hubs just a wee bit on each nub to allow good rolling. My body’s rub is insane though, I’m hoping Sleekun’s lift kit can help me out a bit, beyond that it’s times to cut the flairs off
I'm fixn to get one of these little trucks. I have a real 85 4runner crawler. I will definitely be doing the tire upgrade and I'll trim the fenders probably remove the spear tire and make the top removable. Cool video
Good stuff man. You ever do any suspension upgrades? I got mine about two weeks ago and a shock kit is available to get oil filled shocks and eliminate the bobble head doll bounce. Also, lots of brass parts and weighted stock style tire and wheel sets to keep the weight down low. I highly recommend these options if you haven't gotten around to them yet.
I have the 4Runner model too and I also ordered from sleekun before I found this video. But to fix your solution with the rubbing is that he also sells suspension block lift and it gives better clearance so you won’t have to alter the body. Well worth the purchase for bigger wheels if your not changing the suspension.
Great vid! I've got the same setup with the stamped bead lock wheels but using goodyear MTRs. Awesome hex adapters. Same horrible rubbing at full flex and turn. Gonna mount new shocks and hopefully it'll give it some clearance. Not interested in shaving the fenders or using smaller tires. Have you found a solution to the rubbing?
just the video I need to watch, looking for wheels for my new mini-Z. funny how we have the same desk pad and same color 4Runner. You have good taste my friend.
You have great taste as well then lol also My newest video that’s coming out today has the perfect wheels and tires if your looking for a great set to go on the 4Runner, they came in late so I couldn’t talk about them in this video 👍🏻😄
I’m not sure what TE37 wheels are but I’m definitely going to go google them now 😄, okay I googled what they look like and those are pretty awesome looking wheels! I don’t know of anyone that makes wheels like those for mini crawlers but I’ve seen some for drift RC cars and I bet there is a set out there that could be converted to fit on of these trucks
Nice. Thought about the lift kit? Could defo fit those rime/tires under there then. I use similar adaptors too, running Yeah Racing aluminium beadlock rims, and yes found the width increased by about 10mm with the hub adaptors. Helps a lot though.
I would like to see more info on either links where to buy them or what to search for on ebay cuz i found the hex adapters but have no idea what tiers and wheels will fit on the mini z 4x4
Anything that will fit an axIal SCX24 will fit the Kyosho with the adapters, most 1.0 tires and wheels are an industry standard size of hex so they should all fit with no problems
@@rodey6594 if youre gonna install those tires just get a mini z hex adapter and theyll just bolt right om but the servo is really weak like the rc4wd tires i dont have mine installed with brass weights. Adding brass weights from like yeah racing (12g) or hot racing (7.5g) will help the stock tires grip a LOT more and lower cg of truck
@@therealteja so too much weight the stock servo can't perform well? Sorry new to RC just got 2 of the mini z wranglers i just added brass weight on rear and will add the front ones tomorrow, amazing how this tiny thing can climb steep angle. I was thinking of adding the brass weight + the rims but you've tried them i guess and didn't work well?
