it's not even the fact that it's a bad combo. 2 into 1 is the exact same thing, but more likely to be a 100% hit. the only good thing about kyoto is that it can sometimes surprise your enemy, if they don't spam ragdoll cancel, and they'll be caught off-guard by kyoto rather than the latter.

This is indeed a pretty good combo, it is better than the Kyoto combo but there is a problem: it is flashy and harder than the Kyoto combo due to the 2 into loop dash and the 3 m1's + side dash. It is not recommended to use a flashy combo due to the fact that it is hard to fully land it. You can basically use this combo that has a 99% chance of landing it into a opponent bc it is very easy Foward Dash, 4 m1's downslam, hunter's grasp, m1 then side dash, 3 m1's upflit, 2, 1, 3 m1's (no contact) then upflit, loop dash. Even tho this isnt a one shot combo, it deals good dmg :D

personally, I think kyoto is just satysfaing for people, providing great damage and emotional scare of the opponent. even tho this combo is better, I just think that people are still gonna use the kyoto because of how well known it is and how much it makes you happy when you learn to land it frequently.

if ur able to do the combo materia showed then ur able to do twisted combo with this technique after flowing. it has a higher rate to do a 100% and if u can time dash perfectly it stuns the opponent. and u can even do not flowing into lethat but lethal into flowing. same shit but u can pair it with circular dash that is imo easier than twisted technique and do a lotta more dmg

i like how for the most part as a community we have only gone backwards at doing damaging combos over time, when we first started out, our combos were full of full m1 combos, using downslams or uppercuts to squeeze out extra damage, now its just chaining one move right into another to look cool like flowing water > dash > hunters grasp is flashy but its harder to pull off when you can just downslam them after flowing and get another 4 damage. its not much at all but its still odd that we are avoiding damage and 'noobie combos' when both combos are just as escapable as the other, and the ones we started out with hurt more.

Sorry for late response. However, the combo is outclassed because it isn’t as reliable. I recommend doing the following: 3 m1s, flowing water, side dash into hunters grasp tech (while ragdolled), 3 m1s, lethal whirlwind, m1 uppercut dash tech, 4 m1s

It's not too difficult. Just a little finnicky on the timing. The trick - at least for me - is to wait, just a tad bit, then do it and it'll hit on the fringe as they fall, opening a combo extender.

kyoto is a decent combo mostly used for a challenge/to flex but overall its not hard anymore and most people learned how to do it but i dont really care about garou anymore since i main other characters since i got bored of garou so basically kyoto is just meant for people that want to try harder (maybe learn new things from it)

This isn’t skillful either though, even though Kyoto is a useless combo so is this, my personal opinion on this is, this combo is very easy to dodge. Preys peril, any counter by that matter can block it, or u can dash out easily. The whole combo of this isn’t “skillful” in my opinion. It’s just 3 hits side dash dash back uppercut lethal (repeat with flowing water after) even tho Kyoto is a dopamine rush it’s a better combo for some people. Cause that combo is really easy to escape and tons of counters too it. With Kyoto all u need for them to do is dash out of 1 attack, once they did that they wasted their ticket to escaping. Then you Kyoto, although with this I don’t think it’ll work well. Just my opinion. (If u read this far thanks for reading even tho this is like a paragraph.)

The thing you showed is actually a tech from Kyoto combo, the actual combo is more than just 1 to 2, also kyoto combo can be very useful if you're playing against a good player, as he won't expect that in result he won't use his side dash to escape

The reason they referred to that section as the Kyoto combo is because it is the primary focus of the combo itself. Also, it can get predictable after a couple of uses, not to mention it's high fail rate, meaning that it isn't practical at all, rather it's just a hat trick to show your friends.

@@Savage-360 Now ofc if you are fighting someone simultaneously I wouldn't really advice kyoto for its high rate of failing and predictableness, rather than that you should use it in situations like 2v2 and 1v1 modes, as it reduces lag there is a higher chance of it working and also the enemy would be surprised if you do that, as he would expect something like down slam (so they can right away there side dash) or just you walking to them to use hunter grasp, even kyoto doesn't use his combo that much on public server, but he spams it CRAZY in 1v1 like dam he's a beast, howsoever overall the kyoto FULL COMBO is worth it

I agree with your reasoning. The main issue people have is that it's difficult, predictable, and weak overall. However, if you use it on only 1 individual, it becomes less predictable and easier to do. Again, it is mostly a hat trick, but you are right. It can be hard to escape too, and some tech involved is helpful. Most people just know that there are many combos that are easier and do more damage overall.

I generally only use kyoto combo when i know the opponent has no ragdoll cancel and if i miss i can use hunters grasp to finish it off

Kyoto is good, and sometimes people can do a oneshot combo with the flowing water + lethal whirlwind thing. But its kind of trash right now, since most people miss it, and its kind of hard to do the whole combo, so most people just do the flowing water + lethal whirlwind stream part, since they cant do the whole combo, so that makes a oneshot combo just a 40-60 damage combo (i dont even know the damage that it deals). So it is kind of trash, but the good part is that you can do it even easier without shiftlock, and again, most people create a oneshot combo with the kyoto thing on it, so its trash, but at the same time it's not.

i wanna share a combo for fun cuz why not Cold Combo -Hero Hunter (You saw that one coming) Side dash (Only if youre close enough, dont if you are near them to land this combo) 4m1s Side dash quickly to player Hunters Grasp 1 m1 Side dash (Curve to not side dash to far away) 4m1 Forward dash Side dash 3m1 Flowing water Side dash quickly to player Lethal whirlwind stream Jump + Spam Hunter Grasp 1 m1 (to stun the player) Side dash Downslam Also use slow punches to get the hunters grasp cooldown, if you do it too fast, It wont work.

tbh i still thing kyoto combo is the best if you do the m1 reset and then the full kyoto combo but if ur really a good pro you should do the kyoto combo but if ur not really good at kyoto i would do flowing water into miniupercut and then lethal whirlwind stream

I just use kyotoat the start of a fight as an intimidation tactic since its easily recognisable basically i use it as a "hey your not messing with some random guy" type of thing since its known to take a lot of skill

I definitely agree that kyotos combo more for showing of than practical and usable it only does like 60% of the enemy's HP and about 78% if you land the full combo for it being that hard to actually pull of on a actual situtation its not worth it

The kyoto combo is reliable but a important part about it is training, of course its unreliable if you do not use it often and practice it. Btw kyoto combo is mid but its a good tech when, lets say, you press 1 instead of 2 because you're focused. Thats where the kyoto tech comes in

I won't lie, I got so used to using flowing water before lethal whirlwind stream, that if I don't have hunter's grasp CD I have no other choice but to do the kyoto combo. I don't intent to use lethal first as you don't get more damage unlike flowing water.

I have a simpler 1 shot combo for you lads. 3m1s, downslam, hunters grasp, move back a little bit and front dash, 3 slow m1s, mini uppercut, lethal whirlwind, mini uppercut, flowing water, downslam, hunters grasp (hunters grasp might take a little bit to go off cool-down by the time your done but if you spam it then you can still catch them if you do it right, and if the hunters grasp doesn’t kill, then front dash and do an m1 combo)

My own combo: Practice the 4 M1 tech on Kyoto Combo Timing Lethal Whirlwind Stream Timing Flowing Water (while it is falling) Fast Side Dash and Timing Hunters Grasp Note that the side dash and hunters grasp combo was actually the same as Humbled.

Honestly they is just their opinion i think kyoto makes you good because you take down around 65% of your health if you know the combo well. Plus, you can extend the combat to make it a 1 shot. But make sure they use evasive first.

On xbox i can say that doing the kyoto on a controller is more of a flex then doing it regularly because you cant un shift lock and thers permanently lower sences than pc.

I would say kyoto combo isn't entirely useless. I mean if you have the lethal, you can do the 2 and 1, no difference. But in my case I do kyoto sometimes when my 2 is like inches away from the cooldown. For example your 2 isn't on yet at the time so you have to go with 1 and during the 1 the 2 cd is off. (If you have skill 3 then no need to do) You use the combo. It may be just a little uses but imagine if you have just flowing water move, you wasted your hunter grasp somehow, you caught your opponent in an m1, your skill 2 is ALMOST off and to continue the combo you gonna do the 1-2 then downslam and maybe your 3 cd would also be off aswell. And that would probably finnish off your opponent. It's still useful in it way, it's like a emergency. Even with low chance of successing but it's not too bad if you risk it and maybe mastered the combo. You can be learning the combo better by repeating it too.
