The picture of sweet little Kyron grinning with his science project just gives me such a pain in my heart. How could anyone harm that precious little boy?
I remember Kyron because he's my son's age. He and his family lived only 30 minutes away from where we were. It was both a scary and sad time. After what happened all the schools in Portland changed their attendance policy. From then on parents were notified on the phone immediately if a kid was not in class within minutes.
I am glad to hear they put that in place, it’s the norm now where I live too, but that wasn’t always the case. It’s actually kind of shocking we weren’t always doing this, especially with kids under 12 if a parent hasn’t notified the school the child won’t be in that day. My parents never knew when I cut class except for once when Shania Twain was visiting our city and a teacher saw me on the news (I was just walking in the background, I didn’t know she was going to be there. This was well after her prime and I got teased for weeks for cutting to go see her). But more importantly, I could have been long gone before my parents realised I was missing. Hopefully the policy change ensures this never happens in your community again.
The local news coverage wasn't biased necessarily, but it was "definitely Terri" according to most of our eyes hearing the story for the first time. My son was 6 years younger and it was extremely heartbreaking to see the news and hear the uproar
When he went missing I was living in old town and every morning I would wake up and see a huge billboard of him missing was right there. Tragic, he would be a few years older then my son.
With all due respect....dysfunction behind closed doors is one thing, but a missing child, a burner phone, and an attempt to have ones husband killed by your gardener all around the same time are an entirely different ball park.
She took Kyron to school because it’s key to her story. She has to cover for the fact that she is the last person to see him. She picked a day when there were 400 parents and grandparents coming in and out of the school.
And the only day that you didn't have to sign your student in or out of school because the school didn't do it that day because there were so many people there at the school. So if she left with him then she didn't have to write down that she was taking him out of school. Plus there were a couple students and a teacher that saw her leaving with Kyron. That and she made sure to talk to Kyron's teacher that morning and said that Kyron had a doctors appointment that day and he wouldn't be in class that day (my guess is that Terri didn't want Kyron's teacher calling his bio parents and asked why he wasn't in class. She later denied that she ever said that). Plus Terri awkwardly showed that picture of Kyron with his frog project to every place that she went (alibi) and every person said it was really weird. The lady is definitely guilty and I hope that the cops are able to charge her and find Kyron's remains soon.
Her phone pinged on Sauvie Island. She had DeeDee buy her burner phones. DeeDee has no alibi either. Her client couldn’t find her during the time that Kyron disappeared. I lived in Portland during all of this. It’s not about looking for a bad guy. They all suck. It’s about looking for answers.
@@melindathomas7529 i was thinking she was. Why else would a judge be able to prevent her from changing her name? Also his mom had initially filed a civil suit alleging Terri was responsible for Kyron’s disappearance and investigators talked her out of it because they felt it would work against and hinder the case they have. They keep saying they’ve narrowed down where his body is and are always getting closer to finding him. There’s so much to this case. I could write pages on it.

@melindathomas7529 law enforcement is not required to publicly name a person or interest or suspect. In fact the DOJ advises them not to until charges can be brought. Terri is absolutely an unnamed POI. Law enforcement has no other POI because all roads lead back to Terri. Terri's acquaintances and friends have been subpeanad several times to testify in front of an investative grand jury. Not to bring indictment but to get search warrants and find more evidence.

Me too! First driving around with her 1-yr-old daughter and then going to a fitness class? Who was looking after the baby when she was taking the class? So much doesn't add up (to me). I also wonder if Kyron's father, Kaine, was paying much attention to Terri and how she behaved with Kyron. I fear Kaine wasn't, and that's what led to this horror.

Terri is definitely involved but since police don't have anything concrete, Dr. Grande consideres her innocent. He said the same thing about Casey Anthony, since she was acquitted that means she can't be responsible in Dr. Grandes mind.
I'm not sure because if she did it, why go to all the trouble of making herself look suspicious? Emailing a teacher about when she can pick up the project in the morning, later texting and emailing friends about what happened, posting about going to the gym days after the disappearance, taking him to school and making herself the last person to see him, taking pictures of him at the science fair and uploading them, etc. I think someone that murdered their kid would've been more discreet. It's important to remember that many times people that seem suspicious are actually innocent. A few years back there was a father that called 911 reporting his 6 year old daughter Isabel Celis being missing from her bedroom, he was acting perfectly calm and everyone thought he had something to with it. He was actually innocent, Isabel was abducted and murdered by the sex offender Christopher Matthew Clements.
@@MikkiManson13 I remember that other case, it was tragic, the poor father was under suspicion for years, if my memory serves me right he had a psychotic breakdown while being interrogated. But in the case of Kyron, just bc Terri doesn't seem to be a criminal mastermind, doesn't prove she isn't a cold blooded killer, just look at Chris Watts.

Actually Terri only spent about 20 minutes at the gym. She didn’t exercise and instead spent the time talking to someone she didn’t really know, and was showing the pic of Kyron taken that morning at the science fair. She also sent Kyron’s teacher an email saying he had a doctor appointment that day and would be absent at least part of the day. Later she said she MEANT to say that Kyron had a doctor appointment the following Friday. She accused the teacher of “being confused. Her friend Dede refused to answer over 100 times in front of a grand jury. Terri did it.

I agree that if we put a magnifying glass on most marriages and their families lived in a glass house or fish bowl for the world to look in and watch, we would see a lot of dysfunction. This being said, I also believe the stepmother is responsible for Kyron's disappearance. My heart breaks for his mother. As a mother myself, I cannot imagine the agony of not knowing where my child is. That has to be the worst feeling in the world for parent.
Yes and no the step-mom was responsible bc she was the last to see him. But she did take him to the school science fair and took pictures that were verified as real. The mistake she made was leaving him at school without being left with another adult. This gave the boy the opportunity to leave school without being noticed. This is common for boys to run off unsupervised at last to do a fun activity at a favorite location: park, lake, store, forest, or beach.

(Kiara was confirmed to have an ear infection at a doctor's appointment the day before.) She was confirmed to have gotten the medicine for the ear infection at the other Fred Meyer's 9:30am - 10:00am by an acquaintance who said Terri was acting normal during their conversation, she was proud and showed her the picture she took of Kyron at the science fair. She was confirmed to have made quick stops at a dry cleaning place and a store (Michael's Craft), where there were witnesses and surveillance. 10:10 to an unspecified time at Michael's. During the unaccounted time, she said she gave Kiara the medicine, she made a call at 10:39am, and Kiara took a short nap. It's confirmed by multiple witnesses that she went to the 24 Hour Fitness gym and the toddler was definitely checked in the daycare there. 11:39am - 12:20pm. I'd think if she were killing and getting rid of the body she wouldn't have waited hours for that small timeframe and make herself look suspicious? None of it makes any sense. Especially since there's basically a whole forest right outside the school. And if she wanted to kill him, why bring him to the science fair in the first place, have witnesses to him being there, and make it a whole thing? 🤷🏻♂️
Here's the thing that sticks out to me. Your daughter has an ear infection and is so distraught that you take her out for a drive, then you go to the gym? As a mom I just find that fishy. I'm not leaving my sick baby.
Exactly, those strange occurrences are always small tells imo. Plus if Terri was to blame it makes sense that she would photo document the boys presence at the Science fair so she could say he was at school when she left. Meanwhile she could’ve taken him somewhere.

I agree. Even if my child ends up being not as sick as i asumed, i wouldn't have planned to hit the gym that day. Plus, ear infections are awfull, so it's likely she had a hard night. She still somehow had her gym clothes with her, didn't chose to nap with her sick child but left it at the daycare (which i find problematic in itself, as mine has a strickt Policy regarding sick kids) and proceeded to make sure to have been seen by many people and stick to her routine. If she asked one person to get rid of that Boy, she could have asked another. He got missing inside a school on his way to the class, where no strangers should have been around. No one heared/saw anything unusual because there happened nothing unusual. I hope they find him someday
I agree. A lot of facts were omitted from this video. It appears Dr Grande obtained all of his information on the case from the Dr Phil show. No disrespect for Dr Grande, but there's so much more to the story.

She made several stops that morning after leaving Skyline School, and at one store she stopped to chat with an acquaintance and showed her the picture of Kyron she took at the science fair. 4 months prior to Kyron disappearing, Kaine insisted on Terri's teenage son moving out permanently. Kaine also told journalists that Terri was diagnosed as having a personality disorder. Dede Spicher needs to fess up. She is the only chance we have of finding his remains.
Under what conditions was she evaluated for a personality disorder? How did Kaine get the results? The type of personality disorder she would have would make her not want to be evaluated and not disclose the results. Has Kaine ever specified his reasons for wanting Terri's teenaged son to move out?

if i remember correctly, Dylan Redwine’s father was on the show and was later charged with his murder. i don’t know what it is with people and trying to fool the world on television but it doesn’t work
When I was around 12-13 years old I would get up at 5am every morning to catch the channel 12 Good Day Oregon news broadcasting of Kyron's disappearance, and every time it was talked about, the case seemed so bleak. I felt so bad for him because he was only a little younger than I was, and really cemented in my mind that "stranger danger" that our parents teach us isn't the only thing to worry about - but people we know. Terri is as guilty as sin! She murdered Kyron the day he disappeared. He'll never b found. She knew the back roads very well as she said that she drove those to try to lull the baby to sleep. She also took a lie detector & failed miserably.

Her statements to the police weren't consistent with the evidence, the way that she described parting with him in the school and the route that he took to the class in conjunction to where she claimed to have been standing when they 'waved' to each other was impossible.......she did it. That being said building a murder case on the flimsy evidence available to the cops at this point would be impossible. This case reminds me of the Gannon Stauch one, very sad but hopefully there will eventually be a resolution because whomever took Kyron shouldn't be walking the streets with the rest of society.
Terri was quoted as saying she hated Kyron. By someone. I don’t know if she actually said this, or someone quoted her as saying that in order to implicate her as the perpetrator. This is a really sad case and it got really complicated with the marriage and divorce.
She was accused of saying she hated Kaine, not Kyron, but denied ever saying it. And there is no evidence of such a statement. She did admit she was not happy in her marriage (Kaine had been cheating on her). Just to keep the facts straight on that because they matter.
Wow this is so crazy to see. I went to kyron's elementary school the year after he disappeared. He's around my age and it's trippy to see all the photos of him in the same places I grew up. I saw a video of him doing the exact same play I had to learn, word for word. I even had the same teacher as him and grew up with the people he knew. I went to the same after school program that his sister went to (she was very sweet, and gave me art she had made) and have met his dad. I hope even after all this time we find him in whatever way it is. These people deserve closure.
There were 2 pictures of Kyron by his science project. Each had a man in the background. One had a man and child, the other had one man in the background. The one with one man is who everyone should be looking for.

I often think of Kyron, he went missing around the time I married my husband. I remember the billboards and seeing his image all over the news. He would be a young man now. I pray he didn’t suffer. He had such a beautiful smile.
Possible steroid use, taking care of someone else's child, injury on her leg, missing purchased items (like a shovel), driving around with a stupid excuse (she wasn't driving a plane) and then the notorious "last person to see the missing person alive" condition which leads to a solution. Guilty!
Plus the several adults and children witnessing him leaving with her, reports that she had not been acting right since the baby was born, plus a previous boyfriend who thought she had arranged to have him killed, plus the gardener who was fearful to testify about her for fear for his family...plus the sexting was so gross she seemed unhinged. I'm inclined to agree, guilty and her friend was possibly involved.
She bought Kyron something to drink with Benadryl in it, & drove around until he feel asleep,.....was her gas & car mileage checked? Did she stop for gas?
Oh, and her GPS showed an unusual turn back though the forest area as she was "driving around." And then her idiotic claim that a presumably pedophilic man in a white vehicle asked her "where is the nearest school" that morning.
Thank you dr grande for talking about this case. This is important to me because kyron is my age and I’m also from the area, I remember being young and seeing this on tv for the first time and it’s always stuck with me, I think about this case a lot so thank you for bringing awareness to it
I was literally his age living in Portland when the case arouse. Scared my parents to the point where I no longer took the bus and they dropped me off and kicked me up every day. I hope one day we can all know the truth of what happened to him.

He completely disappeared. No trace of him. This was an unusual case. It’s really sad and once in a while I see posters of Kyron up in my hometown. Desiree was originally from Medford before moving to Portland. I don’t know if Terri if had anything to do with it, but she was the last person responsible for him and the only one to point to. I'm glad you're doing this one. This happened near to where I live. Kyron's step mom absolutely had everything to do with his disappearance. Terri is NOT a victim!
That "drive around for an earache" is a just a little too suspicious in my opinion. Unless he's found I don't think we'll ever know who took him and where....
There should have been cameras everywhere: school, supermarket, gym etc to check out if Terry is telling the truth. In all fairness, Terry is a prime suspect. She is the one who was seen with the child last + she is a step- parent.
There are now cameras at Skyline Elementary and should have been before a child disappeared. Terri made certain she was seen by witnesses at the supermarkets and the gym to establish an alibi.

I really love your channel Dr. Grande however, I think you’ve missed the mark on this one. Terry was the last one to be seen with Kyron and if we are to believe her, he was walking down the hallway to his classroom the last time she saw him. What are the chances that some adult grabbed him in those few feet on the way to his class? I don’t care what her marital issues were, I don’t care if she was cheating on her spouse yet, the fact there was a potential murder for hire plot against her husband, Kyron’s father, is alarming. Terry appears to have a questionable moral character. Factor in her friend who refused to answer questions and was absent during that day, and there becomes way too many questions that have gone unanswered in this case. Perhaps Terry took him to school to give herself an alibi and killed Kyron to hurt the husband she was angry with because, if she couldn’t get rid of him, she’d get rid of his son. Maybe she killed him because he refused to eat his Lucky Charms for breakfast that morning or failed a math test. People kill people for dumb reasons.
It didn't have to be a pre planned murder; she may have snapped at Kyron at the science fair. Took him out to the truck to punish him and ended up choking him out... They she spent the day working on her alibi.
Terri stated that she watched kyron walk all the way almost to his classroom door and she remembered seeing the back of his head. I agree, what are the chances someone could entice him in those seconds in front of lots of witnesses. No child predator is going to take that risk. It's just not logical or historically criminal behaviour of predators. She chose that day to put doubt in people's minds coz there was lots of people that day and open exits. She planned it by telling the teacher he had a doctors appointment then later asked her friend to lie and say it was the next week to the police. She parked in a place that they could make it to the car out of sight. Her story kept changing. People seen them leaving the school. The photo was her alibi. She is 100% guilty from that alone and should be charged.
A family friend of mine was the principal of his school when it happened it was devastating for him. As well as the community, if you grew up around Portland you’ll never forget this case

Portland’s continue to follow to heartbreaking case. Personally, I knew Terri was guilty after watching the first news conference Desiree, Kane & Terri did. That may sound illogical, but I have a good traffic record with cases. Desiree has done everything a Mom could do to find justice. It is 💔. Thank you for doing this case.
Also didn’t terry have an older son that was causing trouble with kyron and Kane found out he had been bullying kyron so terry turned on kyron she deffo did something to that little boy she is a monster

I want to know if the gym has surveillance of her working out to verify if her leg injury was actually caused by dropping a weight, or if that was a lie and that she could have gotten the wound during the potential murder of kyron
@@kevinhornbuckle Correct. There would be blood on the weight, and it could have gotten onto other exercise equipment. People would not only be concerned about Terri, but also the potential health risk. Someone would definitely have remembered that.
Didn't Kaine make Teri's own son move from his (Kaine's home) back to the bio fathers home shortly before Kyron went missing? Add that to the fact the police said Teri had a murder for hire plot against Kaine....seems highly suspect in my opinion. That poor kid.

Thank you for saying that about polygraphs. I worked with law enforcement for years, specifically detectives investigating sex crimes against children. There was very strategic use of polygraphs, and the willingness of the alleged perpetrators to undergo a polygraphs, by the detectives I worked with in three different countries. I won’t go into more detail for obvious reasons other to say never was a case taken to the prosecutor solely on a “failed” polygraph. I would advise anybody who is being investigated by law enforcement to never take a polygraph. Yes, some people may assume you are not taking one because you are “guilty”, however the outcome of a polygraph can very wildly based on the expertise of the administrator. I’ve seen people just take them “for fun” and “fail”. Just don’t. Thank you for your excellent work. Your videos are particularly interesting to me because they are based on scientific principals and competent reasoning. I believe you would be awesome to work with in real life. Sincerely, Judith
This story makes me so sad. Little K needed Love so much. Someone was cruel to him and that made my heart ache. I think the stepmom did something. But why? He was so little, didn’t hurt anyone. So sad.
This is such a heart wrenching case. I found your analysis to be intriguing, Dr. Grande. There doesn't seem to be a motive. On the surface, the stepmother looks innocent of Kyron's disappearance. The marriage was already troubled and the stepmother doesn't have a violent criminal history. I think that there was a motive, however: spite and jealousy. Kyron's father still had to communicate with his ex-wife about matters concerning their son. His affection for his second wife was diminishing on a daily basis. Perhaps the stepmother knew that he'd be likely filing for divorce in the near future. He wasn't rich, so she wouldn't be awarded a large amount for spousal support and child support. There were no large life insurance policies on either child and maybe it was the same for her husband. She lashed out at Kyron's dad by getting rid of Kyron and hid his body where it's likely never going to be found. If one really wants to hurt someone, kill their child or children and hide the evidence and the bodies very well. That parent will never be sure if their child is dead or alive; and, if alive, what kind of life are they living? Have they been trafficked? Something about her is off. I can't define it because it's just my gut feeling. I'm hoping that the boy is alive and well somewhere and that I am wrong. 🙏
This is right in the area I live. There are dozens of backroads, grown over weeds and trees, forests, winding roads with hills on either side. Very tough terrain to search. They put a lot of effort into the search but it’s really tough to manage.
Driving around to soothe the babies ear ache ?...............NO NOT BUYING THAT, If your child was suffering from ear ache, which is painful enough for adults, a baby would be screaming, the only place any normal mother would drive too, would be to a doctors office.
She was confirmed by witnesses to have got the ear infection medicine at a Fred Meyer's and gave it to Kiara before driving around, because she had taken Kiara to the doctor's the day before. You just don't know anything about the case,

i was the same age as kyron living in oregon at the time, and remember seeing his face on the news. i remember thinking "that little boy is missing", i saw him as younger than me even though we were the same age just because he looked so sweet and innocent on the news. i remember my mom keeping a closer eye on me/being just a little more protective at the time. kyron, wish you could be at college with us right now- hope youre resting peacefully

Kyron's father had just had Terri's son move out. It is theorized that the friend and Terri planned this together as payback. Poor little Kyron, used as a pawn. I do believe Terri is responsible for Kyron's disappearance.
It was NOT Kaine who had James move ! It was in fact TERRI who had James move out. She sent him away prior to KYRON’s disappearance. All part of her plan. Terri WAS NOT asked to care for Kyron. Terri is a HOMEWRECKER. While Desiree was pregnant with Kyron, Desiree suspected Kaine was cheating. Desiree confirmed the affair by finding a letter written to Kaine BY TERRi. The letter instructed Kaine on how to leave his wife (Desiree) with the least legal/financial/custody repercussions. In the letter Terri Suggests Kaine get a paternity test, get an apartment(w/Terri) change bank account and beneficiaries, true to her disgusting homewrecking character Terri also suggest he have lots of sex with her. She is a calculated monster. Desiree and Terri WERE NEVER friends. Desiree found this out about Kaine & TERRIs affair and moved out of the master bedroom of the home Desiree and Kaine had purchased and stayed in the spare bedroom. Kaine is a dirtbag and so is Terri in true hussy character she has the nerve to sneak into the home while Desiree is still living there and have sex with Kaine while Desiree was IN THE HOUSE. The day Desiree moved out Terri was there moving her FILTH in. There was no “agreement” to hire Terri to look after Kyron. Terri is a slimy slithery SNAKe. Desiree and Terri were NEVER friends. TERRI put that out to try and make herself look better. Desiree and Kaine shared custody of Kyron. When Desiree became ill. She sought treatment in Canada and was not able to take her boys with her. In custody case the boys were to stay with their fathers until Desiree was healthy enough to take care of the boys without fear of her serious condition impacting the care of her children. Desiree wanted Kyron to live with her and Kyron BEGGED to move back in with Desiree. Kaine refused - to the detriment of his owns sons future safety- knowing the monster he married - Kaine refused OVER & OVER Desiree and Kyron begged and Kaine refused. The boys fathers used Desiree’s condition against her. Desiree has always fought for her children and always will. Desiree has ALWAYS been KYRON’s only REAL mother. TERRI has always been jealous of Desiree. Can’t understand what the hell Kaine was thinking to go from Desiree to that thing 🤮 Talk about a downgrade. The book goes into EVEN MORE details about Terri’s disgusting scandalous heartless behavior. All of our suspicions haven’t changed. It’s HER. It’s always been HER. Thank you! You are one of the few actually educated people that have talked about this case. The people on the internet have their facts wrong. The police should’ve been looking for the man the fbi made a profile for. Instead they wasted all this time on a witch-hunt and not Kyron Horman will mostlikely not be found alive. That poor babies disappearance has turned into an internet witch-hunt by people who don’t even have so much as a college degree or ackground in LE. I feel bad for Terri, she lost her stepson who she was actually raising while the bio mom was nowhere to be seen
What struck me cold was the TV interview. Four people, two couples. Terry made faces and body movements, hand movements that struck me clear she was reliving something horrible in her mind's eye.
