I saw these guys in 94 or 95 and it was one of the only concerts where I sat in the front row the lead singer was putting everything he had into it. I mean dude's veins were popping out, sweat was pouring off him, it was a great performance. Funky song.
As a young 90’s lad, I often skipped this song when listening to the album. Now i can see it is a very well structured song with plenty of melody and super grinding bass-amp guitar. It seems Kyuss were indeed ahead of their time.
Kyuss soooooo ruled back in the day. I worked with a now-defunct club called Papa Joe's in Baton Rouge, LA to get these guys booked on this tour...then about 2 or 3 weeks before they were supposed to perform they split. So the show never happened. I saw them at Tipitina's in New Orleans on the Sky Valley tour....thank you to my friend Al Hodge of Tungsten for videotaping that show. I still have that video and watch it periodically. Kyuss just ruled and were like no one else.
Kyuss is one of those bands have I continued to listen to constantly for over 20 years since I heard them at one of my brother's mad shed parties. I was gutted when I missed out on a ticket to see them in Australia.
14 years in waiting.... My mate stuffed some phones on my ears and played this song to me (via his trusty CD walkman). I really liked it but never asked him who the band was. Until now. Great f#cken guitar riff to ride the song!!!!
Anybody else see guardians of the galaxy 2 and when Bautista says "it's the little one inch man", my mind went str8 to humming this tune. Long live Kyuss
one of the greatest 90s bands, and should have much more recognition then they should AND still go out as a band that I (nor you probably!) have never seen play live... The trippiest, most atmospheric rock.
I remember listening to Kyuss back in the early 90's, but only due to my older brother being a guitarist and having a very large record collection of 'underground' and independant types of rock music. Nobody else I know has ever heard of them! Period!!
I played this song for a program director of a college rock/alternative radio station when WTSV came out. He said it sounded like good background music. He was fired in 3 months. The station changed formats a few months later.
This is the first of I've ever heard of them. I just looked them up out of curiosity. It kind of sucks because now I have to clean up my mind off the ceiling
413 thumbs down, wow....I always dug this, but I started listening at Blues and had a sweet tooth for them already. When I was young and smoking heavy, Kyuss was the cat's meow...thanks for upload.
John Garcia is one of the best, hottest, coolest, mindblowing vocalist ever. I´ve been at gigs with Kyuss, Unida, Vista Chino and last week in Stockholm John Garcia´s solo project. He´s still got it, and he´s still HOT as hell. God damned!! And he is a humble, lovely man.
There was never, ever, anything like this, and never willl be... Homme and QoTSA are great, but they're not @#$%ing KYUSS! ... just listen to 2:29, gawwwwd daaaaaaaaaaaamn!
I would not dare insinuate something so insane my friend! Never! However homme was the engine of Kyuss. Garcia was the tread on the road. Bjork was the cylinders all firing on Go, and Reeder was the cigarette in your hand and the rock on the radio. They were the shit.
One Inch Man, lonely soul Two Inch Man, Two Inch Man, gimme more Five steps back, get him back Three steps up, get him up Always so lonely, lonely, lonely Always so lonely, lonely, lonely One Inch Man, lonely soul Two Inch Man, gimme more, more, more, more Always so lonely, lonely, lonely Once Inch Man he's so lonely, oh he's breathin' Down my vice, do you really wanna fuck me Not my time, do you really wanna hold me Am I time, do you really wanna hold me Love my time, do you really wanna hold me Always so lonely, Once Inch Man, he's breathin' Always so lonely, lonely, lonely One Inch Man, he's so lonely, oh!
@@TdunksmaneI mean josh homme literally invented a whole style, every stoner band post 1995 to this day was trying to sound like Josh Homme on a kyuss album. He also is the frontman of one of the most famous rock bands of all time in Queens of the Stone Age.
@@jenniferziff2196 I know huh, literally the entire concept of playing super fuzzed out in the style of 70s hard rock and playing swirling, hazy, weed smoke laden guitar riffs was literally started by Josh Homme lol.
+Ruby Smith That's so badass. Kyuss sounds like some sort of superhero that can turn into a pterodactyl and glide around the desert, but it's set in like 1908 or something and he stops banditos and outlaw gangs and shit. To me that's even cooler than the d&d villian, and he's pretty cool. You're a cool dad.
Agreed... Josh Homme even had his shit plugged into a bass amp a good portion of the time. Genious low-end frequencies from both Oliveri and Reeder combined with Homme's sludgy guitar makes for a great combo.
Can't believe people are actually bashing Garcia, the man sings with some fucking passion. Whenever people ask me about my favorite singers, I always tell them Neil Fallon, John Garcia, and Rob Halford. Halford is technically the best singer of the three, but that's not all you look for in a singer, which is why I consider the other two on par with him.
Uncle Fester Do you not agree? Do you think he is bad at what he does? Just because he isn't good in the traditional sense, doesn't mean he isn't a joy to listen to. Same could be said for Ozzy, Les Claypool, Johnny Rotten, Jello Biafra, Al Jourgensen, etc.
therestimenow Mike Patton is a terrific singer. He's more than just "good at what he does". He has the highest range of any other known singer alive. He can sing in almost any style. You should probably listen to his stuff beyond Faith No More. He can sing opera songs for crying out loud.
Like I said, I'm not a fan, so forgive me for not knowing trivia about him. I haven't even heard him sing opera. Still, what I said wasn't incorrect, I think you're fanboying just a little too hard.
Brings back memories of many friday and saturday night parties at different gurus places full of beer bongs, goon bags, strategically placed stolen garden gnomes , and good times
