I recently purchased the PR2 and was surprised that a headphone amp is needed to truly get the best out of the product. I was aware of this before I purchased and have a portable headphone amp for my high impedance headphones. All of the criticisms of the PR2 go away when connected to a sufficient amp. I have the Apple dongles for USB and Lightning and they simply are not enough to provide sufficiently volume levels. With the right power, the PR2s are amazing. The soundstage and detail are quite impressive. The right tools for the right job: I have the following IEMS (used primarily when traveling): Linsoul Tripowin Zonie 16 Core Silver Plated Cable SPC Earphone Cable Linsoul KZ ZS10 Pro Linsoul QKZ x HBB QKZ x HBB Khan KZ x HBB PR2 Former Shure customer
Thank you, I've hear something about a tuning problem on newer production models of this one so I would say the Khan might be a safer bet. This particular batch though was better than it in my opinion
I'd recommend the PR1 Pro over the PR2s any day. These PR2s confuse me, as they're planars that are tuned to replicate dynamics, which is ironically redundant.
