Northeast of Hamburg, the Hanseatic city of Lübeck boasts magnificent churches and the historic Holsten Gate. The city’s Old Town was named a UNESCO Heritage Site in 1987.
The Lübeck Christmas Market is perfect for anyone who wants to embrace the holiday spirit and experience the joy of Christmas.
The Traditional Christmas Market sees Lübeck’s town hall illuminated with garlands of lights. The smell of roasted nuts, grilled sausages, deep-fried pastries, and mulled wine permeate the air, while arts and crafts, handcrafted ornaments, and regional products are showcased at the stalls
There is no entry fee to the Lübeck Christmas market.
Glühwein: Expect to spend 4-5EUR before pfand (deposit). The pfand runs a few Euro, but you get it back when you return your mug.
Food: Food will vary greatly. You can spend 5-8EUR for some snacks and up to 24EUR for a meal. There’s a lot of variation in between.
Bathrooms: Expect to spend at least 50 cents to 1€ (EUR) each time you use the restroom. Look for the WC sign (water closet).
