This was always one of my favorite arcade games, right up there with Crisis Zone. Watching the enemies get knocked around by your fire, seeing them take visible damage- there was such a visceral satisfaction to that.
My childhood favorites. I used to play this game along with Gunblade NY all the time when I was a little kid. I have both of them on the Wii so I can play at home. No quarters required
it was all thanks to Yu Suzuki. I do not like Shenmue but I bought the third game just to support Yu Suzuki because he made my childhood amazing by designing the model 1-3 arcade boards
This game was ridiculously EPIC Not only was the gameplay such an epic fast paced visual effect that tested your vertigo but, if you ever saw the arcade machine itself, you knew you were in for a fun play~ Two model jet ski's that swayed with the direction you were moving, a model uzi guncon mounted at the front that had kickback to let you feel the rapid fire. Needless to say, you couldn't exactly dual wield 1st & 2nd player gun controllers because of the machine's structure but, this was one of those games with so much to offer from its machine that, you could get an enjoyable kick out of playing it in 1 player.
Dude I loved this game, if only because of the giant yellow machine guns that vibrated when you fired on screen. It was also super satisfying to shoot things. I think a new game for the Switch would be really cool to make.
You can use the nunchucks to aim, and the built in rumble feature can mimic shots. Plus if done similarly to this, it'd be kinda cartoonish and light-hearted, which would compliment Nintendo very well.
For sure, the haptics really make this series stand out. I have one of the LA Machineguns rumble guns sitting in my room. Not sure if the motor works nor what to do with it but was thinking of one day building some sort of VR project with it.
The very intricate attention to detail of Los Angeles, the impressive storyline, and many other excellent progressive notes.Sega has really hit the groovy mark on this one!!!
This and Gunblade are still awesome today. What's unique about them from other on-rails shooters is that your gunship *moves dynamically*. It will swerve around to get better firing angles and actually tries to dodge enemy missiles on it's own, you know, like a pilot is trained to do instead of hover in place like an idiot. You can't always dodge everything and you'll need to shoot some missiles down, but it actually feels like you're in a ship that's tactically flying around and making the most of it's aerial superiority instead of a floating box that only moves to a preset point and can't dodge anything.

Used to love light-gun arcade games but don't recall playing this one. This is one of those games where there's so much going on that I probably wouldn't have been able to comprehend it lol.
Me and my dad used to play this everytime we went to the arcade. I never knew how competitive my dad was until we played this game. Always had to get the most points 😅
The Las Vegas stage is amazing to me. Everything is pretty much right where it's supposed to be on blvd/Tropicana. The Luxor Pyramid is waaay in the back past Mandalay, and they didnt throw in the "iconic" neon cowboy.
Funny thing was I use to work at Gameworks Arcade in Ontario Ca. and the Vegas stage had a different background. It had a GameWorks right next to the Coke bottle where it was for real.
Gunner 1: "Killing squads of bad guys, gratuitous amount of property damage, civilian casualties and billions of dollars in expended ammunition. That's how it's done!" Gunner 2: "Damn right." Gunner 1: "Now, let's go home and play some video games." Gunner 2: "I'll get the nachos." Gunner 1: "No can do. They're still rebuilding the store after our last visit."
While not too well known, this one actually did come out on the Wii along with Gunblade NY. The compilation was called Arcade Hits Pack: Gunblade NY & LA Machineguns.
Y'know, at some point during that third mission the bad guys have to have realized that the amount of money they could have potentially earned from that Casino Heist couldn't cover the loss of all the Military-grade hardware they were throwing at the player. I mean, by the time the bosses showed up, the bad guys had to be thinking "I don't care what it costs any more, I WANT THEM DEAD!"
I normally use a mouse for Wii games rather than a Wii remote, since I use an emulator. I did plan to play the Wii version eventually, but I'm in no hurry to do it, since I already did the arcade version of both games.
Earthworm Jim never said anything about Old Yeller. You're probably thinking of "Whoa Nelly!" source: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JBARn6WVcWY.html
