Rolando y Anna formaron un dueto fantástico que revolucionó la puesta en escena de las óperas, hasta entonces rígidas y acartonadas. La frescura, intensidad y espontaneidad de ambos intérpretes ha sido insuperable hasta la fecha, en las pocas óperas que les tocó representar. Hicieron historia y se consagraron para ser imitados por las futuras generaciones. Rolando es una inspiración para los tenores mexicanos que aspiren a dejar huella en este dificil arte del bel canto..

En mis sesenta y cinco años que sigo la opera debo reconocer que Rolando Villazón es el numero uno en cantar una Furtiva Lagrima, sin dejar de lado a tantos otros que han hecho historia, Schipa, Gilli, Biorling, Pavarotti, rtc., mas acompañado por Anita Netrebko que reúne belleza total de figura y voz extraordinaria, quién fuera Villazón para haber aprovechado de darles algunos besitos.-
